To whom it may concern,
My wife had a stroke and several mild heart attacks in February and was in the hospital for 11 days. I'm 68, she is 64 and we are both impacted in date of our SSI checks coming in. The insurance she had did not cover any rehabilitation in a nursing facility, or even in home physical therapy or nurse's visits. We only had my Social Security coming in and now that SSI was change in payment timing an our landlord is charging us fees.
My wife had been working up until February 5th. We applied for SSI Disability and Medicaid, but was denied. We have an attorney working on the case to appeal it. However since we got behind in our rent, we recently were evicted from our apartment in Hurst. We want to relocate to Granbury Texas. I feel it would be peaceful and provide a better atmosphere for both of us. I have lived here before and love it.
She still needs physical therapy. Her personality has changed 180 degrees from the stroke, in temperament and brain cognition. Some of the time she knows who I am. Other times she calls me her brothers names. I'm trying to keep up with the rent and landlord fees to keep her out of assisted living as she wouldn't last very much longer there. Doing the best I can to take care of her and myself with limited SSI money. Appreciate any help you could assist in helping us find suitable housing. All our belongings are in storage at the present time. Sincerely Steven
