Hi, my name is Kari Nelson & I am seeking help to get caught up on my back rent. I had left my job because it was getting physically hard to pick up the disabled 7 year old 55 lb boy that I was taking care of everyday. I do have myself set up with a temp employment agency so I'm praying they will find me work. But my daughter is in nursing school and since I have no job I can't afford the housing anymore. I am so stressed out it's taking a toll on me all I need is help with the back rent & I will be able to keep on track after that. Thank you for your time

I desperately need help paying back rent. I am disabled with my daughter only in high school. I’m on SSI and my son just passed away about a year and a half ago and I just can’t make ends meet. There’s no way of getting any extra money. I have nobody other than my high school daughter, and without rent help she will be homeless even after just losing her brother. Please help.

She needs help to come up with rest of her monthly rent for this month. She’s tried to get help through DHHR but they said they can’t help her. She is running out of time and really just needs this one month of rent to start her new life - post graduation. She has come so far I am proud of her she just needs help this one time until she starts her job. GOD BLESS
I pray she can get some help. Thank You.

Hello, I'm 26 years old & a full time student. I am trying to find out more about your Rental Assistance program. I have been living at my current unit since 10/2017 & have been actively seeking employment. My school was very helpful the last year & awarded me work study & scholarships. I'm in my last course which is once a week until August 1 then I'll have my degree & can hopefully find work easier. I was hired at the end of May, but was not made aware it was a per diem job position until 2 days ago. I'm trying my best to find another job, but will be behind on rent for December. It is also harder being a full time college student. I've been paying my bills off using a credit card as I tried to find work, & I'm pretty close to making them out. I wanted to know if assistance is given to single women. And if so, is there a way to schedule an appointment? I've left my name & number below.

I need help with paying my back rent since December. I'm back in college to obtain and further my career that put me behind on my rent. I have a part time job that I work between 8-16 hours a week. And I have that to pay my current rent now that was reduced due to income change. I need help for all the right reasons. I’m motivated and determined to get back on track once I’m done with school in December and land a great paying job as A Registered Medical Assistant. Please help me if you can. Thank you.

Well, college/nursing students can try to apply for any of the standard rent assistance programs. But maybe you can apply for financial aid from your school and/or take out a loan for college students. But the best place to start is asking your local college aid office, as they are a great resource for students.

We are currently living with my parents and 4 sisters. There's just no room here for us and we have no where else to go. If any one knows where we could go to find a place that can help us find our own place to stay till I finish school it would be greatly appreciated.

Most places do not have age or education discrimination or criteria in place. So you can still apply at any organization...there are no special ones to try for people with a GED or high school only education. Find our listing of resources that provide rent assistance. As you monthly payment of 550 is reasonable, so that will help in your quest for help.

If you are in college and are behind on your rent, check with your school's financial aid office. Most offer either loans or have referrals to some type of program for you. They of course do not want to see a student go homelessness. Just tell them your situation. Also look for a part time job on campus. But there are other resources for those that need rent help, so inquire in the college community.

Not having enough funds to pay rent for this month causes lack of performance during school.

My husband lost his job and I don't work because I'm pregnant 6 months. We just moved into our new place a month ago. Reason we can't afford the rent is because the guy my husband worked for is moving and there for the business is relocating and he waited last minute to tell us. My husband just got a job about 2 weeks ago serving things, but it has never been this hard as he only has a GED degree. Our rent is 550 we just need the help to get us back to where we need to be. This had never happened before. Please if you can help in any way will be greatly appreciated.

I am a 20 year old full time college student with a part-time job (minimum wage) meaning 7.25/hr. I need to find a apartment 1 bed or 2 bed (preferred). I’m starting to be on my own, and was wondering, if I do find a reasonable apartment will you find or get me help with the rent? I know I’m asking for is a little much, but its worth it.

I have just turned 18 years old on October 31st of this year. I'm going to attend College on January 4th. My boyfriend and I are currently living at my mothers house. I have no job, no credit. Nothing. So I don't know what I can do. I get threatened to be kicked out every other day. (for no probable cause, or reasoning) I was currently kicked out and just moved back in. We are not sure as to what we should do or can do. If I get kicked out say, tomorrow. What would I do? That's the question. I'm so stressed and lost right now. I am looking anywhere and everywhere for help. I don't know what to do, or what help I can get. Someone please just answer and try to help me. I will be doing whatever it takes for me to do what I have to do but, I need somewhere to start. Thank You. I’m in Pennsylvania.

I am 20 year old part time student who works a full time job but unfortunately my Mother will be moving to California in just a few short months. I've struggled on my own before, & fear the same will happen again with my Mother halfway across the country. I plan to stay here to finish my degree but fear I may need some financial assistance to do so. I'm looking for some type of guidance as to what I can afford & any agencies willing to help me with rent/utilities. Thank you.

I am 18 a full time student in high school and cannot find a job. I live with my girlfriend and she is no longer getting enough hours to cover our rent, we have tried to get rental assistance. But since we are not married our $700 rent is split and she paid 322.00 this month and me nothing. But since we are not married, and since she was the only one who was approved for help. We were given $27.00 I have called over 15 different groups from around the state, and no one has been able to help.
