My name is Mark and about to be homeless. I will be 62 on December 21st. I moved down here to live with a friend due to my physical disability growing worse. I am not eligible for social security till Sept of this year. Although I am blind in one eye, have spinal stenosis, need a right knee replacement and have some slight mental issues, I cannot wait the 6 month period to apply for SSDD, AND THEN POSSILY GET TURNED DOWN.
I have not worked since Nov 1st 2019.
I am being asked to leave my rented apartment by my friend, soon very soon. I have a total of 725 monthly income that goes to paying my car and car insurance. My driving record is not good, that is why insurance is so high. I have applied to over 200 jobs since Jan1, with just 3 interviews. Making 10.50 an hour will not help me get a clean place to sleep. pay gas and eat. Besides, I cannot be on my feet for too long of a period of time.
I really need SOME HELP--PLEASE. I am divorced and have nowhere to turn as I state down homelessness, and do not want to do anything illegal. But my time is growing noticeably short and I need help.
I have visited food shelters, and they are not clean and pretty bad. My next move is to live in my car and shower in the closest lake. This is no joke.
If there is any safe, real assistance where I can go near Orlando that I do not know about please contact me or email me as soon as possible. I do not know how much longer I have before all of this happens. I know it will happen by the first week in March.
Thank You Very much for listening

Hi Kelly and all,
This thread covers various states and areas, including Oklahoma, Virginia, and others. Almost all states have some form of homeless prevention program we would recommend for help, and here are the details. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... nd_ra.html

There are places to go if you are evicted, including shelters, churches, rehousing programs and more. So you do not need to be homeless. Look here if being evicted and need a place to go.

Hi, my name is Kelly. I’m in need of help with a motel voucher for a week no longer than that or I will be homeless. I’m from Clinton Oklahoma but moving to weather ford Oklahoma. The house we are currently in, the owners have not been paying taxes and we have to move on short notice. We found another place but it will not be ready for about a week. My boyfriend and I do not have family or friends we can stay with and low on funds and need help with getting a motel so we are not homeless. My question is. Is there any way we could get a motel voucher asap?

To whom it may concern:
I wanted to get more information on the services or organizations that help with paying rent in Hillsborough County (Riverview) before I am homeless, which is about to happen. I am retired military that still works but have had financial issues arise that has put me in need. I have already contacted the VA for assistance and they were able to help last month, but I am still in need.
I can be reached IA email or cell after 6pm.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Melissa

I need emergency help. I live in Hesperia, CA. I am a in desperate need of help with my rent, I'm behind two months now, due to company laid off currently unemployed and desperately job seeking everywhere. I have 3 days to pay $1300.00 or leave, which I will be homeless always where no one to go to. This is my first crisis, I'm praying to have a roof over my heads I'm searching for work day and night. I've always paid on time. Thank you.

My father's sickness has been progressively getting worse and my mother is unable to work so I have been lending them money to help out with bills. I am a full time college student and I have been working as much as I can but I work for tips. Unfortunately my parents were unable to pay me back and I am facing eviction from my apartment and then homelessness. I do not know if I qualify for any assistance but I do not know what else to do. Thank you.

I have had a house and I have a car but due to certain circumstances I will have my house taken from me and for us to be homeless. I've been saying my car for the past month and getting a hotel when I can afford it. I say what enough money I've been at my job her about 5 years now and my car broke down last Friday and now I have nowhere to stay. I got saved up enough money that I could get a hotel room until this evening. If there's any possible way you point me in the right direction. Anything, any help would be greatly appreciated. If we could contact nearest convenience.

To apply for a housing voucher, or to find a shelter in Suwanee County, you need to call around. Try a housing authority or a charity such as the Salvation Army. Also, where do you need help? In the city of Oak Florida or elsewhere in the county.
Getting a job for an ex felon can be hard. Also may try a job placement center as they may have information on companies that will hire formerly incarcerated people. Find Suwannee County assistance programs.

Since you are still waiting on the eviction notice from the sheriff, it sounds like you still have time. We recommend applying to an emergency rental assistance program for financial help. If you are back working after missing that week, that means your need is short term. These rent programs are meant to help hard-working people facing an emergency like that.
Waffletaco wrote:This is in reference to your ad to help out with our back rent. I had got hurt and missed an week of work, got a short check and been playing catch up, but can't . Really need help to make up for this shortcoming. Have received two late letters from the office and waiting on the eviction notice from sheriff office, any day now. Please let me have some options to consider, since the housing service agency says their out of money, all the ones we've called. Or I will be homeless. Thank you.

There is a regional Catholic Charities in Fredericksburg that may offer either shelter or emergency rental assistance. But being over 4000+ behind is a lot of money. No church or really any charity will ever offer that much money. Since you are in the USMC, then talk to a local VA office as well for referrals. As they may have ideas too for you and your prgnant wife.

My fiancé has been incarcerated at Suwannee FL and I am losing our home because I can’t afford to stay there. I am moving up to live Oak Florida to be closer to him. I am having trouble paying bills and I only get 576.00 in social security disability. I need help finding a place to live and help with expenses until I can somehow get on my feet.
I am a week away from living in my car and I am very scared. I found out I qualify for section 811 housing voucher but I don’t know how out where to do that. Please help me if you can or at least point me in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I lost my other half for a year, lost my job, lost my home, sold everything I could to pay bills and now about to be on the edge of homelessness...thank you so much in advance for any help you can offer. I am alone and scared....

Hi! I am a 62 year old man who is unemployed (unable to find work) and am HOMELESS. My friend has let me stay with her in the back of her house. The problem is, my eyes have gotten so bad within the last month or so, that I can barely see. The last time I went to an eye Dr, was about 6 years ago, and am still wearing the same glasses.
I recently have developed the symptoms of diabetes. I also am almost blind in my left eye, due to a childhood accident. I need to see an eye doctor and have a free exam and free glasses. I can hardly see. It’s so hard to even see to fill out applications on my own. If you can help me, please call my friends number and if she isn’t home, would you please leave a call back number so I can return your call. Thank you for your help. I am staying in Alhambra, IL and the closest bigger town to me, is Alton, IL.

I am homeless mother of three children. One is an 14 year old disable child and a 5 year old daughter and a 17 year old son. He has asthma. I need help trying to find an apartment. When I was in a shelter in New Bedford for 6 month my son got bullied to the point he wanted to take his life. Nobody was helping me to fix the situation. I've tried doing everything on my own and it's been very difficult and now I'm in the street again. I need help.

To whom it may concern,
I am a single mother who got fired from my job in March of this year. I have desperately been trying you get another job, unfortunately I have had no luck. I am writing to see if there was any way you could help me with my rent so I do not go homeless. I am a month and a half behind. My rent is 608 and up until I got fired I was able to keep up on rent. If possible rent is all I need help with. I receive unemployment but it can't cover everything. I would appreciate whatever you can do.

Well I'm struggling and may lose our home. Right now and my kids may not see Christmas. My worker from Section 8 told me they only give you One extension. So I said Okay I will wait until November so had my landlord fill out another paper to extend it.
The first time I had to wait for new landlord to run credit for new place. The landlord went back Friday waiting for inspection. At new place I have to pay $950 rent and don't have it.
