Get help with paying bills or free stuff.

The Salvation Army usually has some form of referrals for utility programs, if they are out of money. Did you ask them for any other ideas? Also, if the home is cold then they may have short term shelters for you as well until you can get the electricity turned back on. So try them, and find Salvation Army programs and centers.

We do have several programs listed as well. When someone asks for help in one day though their options are limited. As it is not enough time. But still ask and/or apply for help. Maybe the situation will be considered to be a crisis.

So here are the resources to use. They may be able to help with shut off of electric bill, as the agencies as well as government want to prevent that as much as possible. But you need to apply first thing if you need help today. Or even try some type of short term loan as well if need be.
