Good news is there are many medical bill assistance programs and also free health care. Here is a resource that lists them. charities help, government programs offer medical care, medical billing advocates, and many other options.

Maybe not grants, but they offer a ton of assistance. They are trying to help something like 5 million people. Mostly thr loan modifications, refinancing, and other steps. Many states have programs as well. Try the main site, needhelppayingbills.com for a list of programs.

What I have recently discovered is that credit card companies are more willing to help people reduce debts and help them pay their bills. For credit card debt help, try credit card hardship programs. Banks are more willing to work with people these days, as they would rather collect some cash than zero. Chicago has a program that will pay at least one months of rent, as well as help with security deposits and utility bills if needed. TANF is in all states, including Florida, and it was created to provide help and assistance to needy families so that the familes and children may be cared for in their own homes or may even receive aid in the homes of relative. Yes, try a debt settlement company to get help with medical bills and debts. Also, contact your doctor or hospital and "beg" them for help, or some type of payment or installment plan.

There are several energy bill assistance programs in Alabama. Alabama Power Co., Alagasco, and Mobile Gas all offer programs in which they waive the monthly service fees (up to $10 /month) for low income and SSI people.
