To the staff at St Vincent de Paul:

I live in Lehigh Acres, FL with my husband and daughters and two sons.

Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with cancer. Although it still shocking to my family, my life has changed drastically. Now I am home recovering from surgery. This is why I have decided to write to you. I am in need of a recliner chair in which I could lay back in my living room with my family while I recover from surgery and start radiation or even chemo. Would you be so kind as to help me obtain a recliner through charity or for a low price? I will be very appreciative for all your help.

Thank you for all you are able to do for the community.

Yes, generally a thrift store will give furniture for medical reasons, and cancer should qualify you. So call St. Vincent de Paul, as we are not them. Also try a medical loan closet as well.

I have recently moved to another apartment.
I have section 8 Housing, but took me a month to get apartment.
All of my belongings are gone.
I have no bed, I have been sleeping on floor, no furniture, no kitchen items.
I need help. I am getting over cancer, and all of my things were stolen by someone who I thought were my friends. They will not give anything back to me.
So I’m starting over.

There are charities that help people with cancer as well as government programs. Of course try a furniture bank or read more on money for cancer patients.
