Thanks for the detailed reply. Not really sure what else to tell you. What county are you in? We can send some info on places to try in your area.
And of course, first and foremost, call Duck River and ask for payment plans and any options. Ask them for TIME to pay the bill.
But the fact is your options are government programs like LIHEAP, local charities/non-profits, and Duck River themselves. That is about it.
Sorry to be direct/blunt, but please let us know if more questions, etc.

I have applied for LIHEAP but it didn't happen. I missed the application window.
Project help you can only receive once a year or every six months I believe. I had to reach out to them for assistance in January I think during that deep artic freeze we had in Tennessee.

I have tried and tried when it comes to resources around here. If there is somewhere I don't know that can help me and my dog, please point me in the right direction.

Hi Sabine,
We know Duck River runs a program called Project Help, with details at https://www.dremc.com/community/project-help/
Also trying LIHEAP in Tennessee - we have a guide to it at https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ce_li.html
We also have a dedicated page to utility programs in TN at https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... rgy_b.html

Hello, my name is Sabine, and I’m reaching out because I’m currently struggling to get caught up on my electric bill through Duck River Electric. I’m hoping someone may be able to point me toward assistance or help me get this balance paid so I can keep my electricity on.

I am currently unemployed and living on a very limited income. I’ve been doing my best to stay afloat, but my utility bill has fallen behind and I’m now at the point where I’m worried about losing my power. Having electricity is especially important because my home, daily needs, and my senior dog all depend on it.

I have been trying to find every possible resource available, including assistance programs and community help, but I’m running out of options. Any help toward my Duck River Electric balance, even a partial payment, would make a huge difference and help me get back on track.

SHUT OFF DATE 7/01/26
BALANCE FORWARDED $133.96
CURRENT AMOUNT DUE $212.71
DUE DATE 6/22/26
PAST DUE CHARGE $5.30
AMOUNT AFTER DUE DATE $218.01

Just need some help getting through this difficult moment and keeping my utilities on. I truly appreciate anyone
