Hello, my name is Erica and I am contacting you in regard to my application for snap/food benefits through my local Job Center that was denied. I called them and I’m not getting anywhere, they won’t tell me why it was denied just that someone will contact me. I
haven’t heard back though and it is an urgent matter, to me anyway. I am going through a very difficult time in my life right now and unfortunately need help with many things. I currently have no income I can’t work due to medical issues; the state of Ohio revoked my license due to medical issues so it’s difficult to get anything! I had to resign from my job in 2016 due to unexpected seizure activity.
I then applied for SSDI and had been waiting for 2-1/2 years. for a decision which I just got less than 60 days ago, I was denied. However, going back to when I resigned from work I was approved for unemployment but the state of Ohio’s SSI dept. along w/ my lawyer told me not to claim it yet because it could affect my case. I now need to get access to the money owed but I can’t get anyone to hear me!! I just keep getting told I called the wrong number or wrong extension or that I have wrong dept. & now I need to reopen the case.
I’m so frustrated with our system and denying me food stamps!! To top it off I had a hearing for child support (I pay my ex-husband), to be raised! Well obviously I thought it will be lowered due to my son dropping off since he turned 19 & of course no income. I have been paying for 13 years & not once been late or missed or gotten in arrears.
I had a medical form I gave the judge that stated I was unemployable! The judge denied taking my form, then asked if I had insurance for my daughter which I did and handed her the insurance card which she ripped up! Yes, I was completely shattered by her decision to raise the amount. I was paying for 2 kids $197, and now for 1 kid $463 w/ no income! I’m now in arrears over $8,000! I would have been ok somewhat but my current husband recently abandoned me.
His physical/emotional abuse towards me has also affected me mentally and I’m currently trying to deal w/ that. His income was all we had, which now is paying for his girlfriend’s rent/bills and I can't even get food for my family without food stamps! I am also in the middle of filing bankruptcy and trying to get a divorce w/ help from legal aid. Also trying to do what I can to keep a roof over my head, I have sold most of my furniture, clothing... etc. to make mortgage but I’m running out of options. So now this is where I am!
