My husband and I just separated and I didn't know I had an outstanding balance with Nicor. I guess my gas bill was still in my landlord name because when I went to switch it into mine it was never done. Nicor came today and was going to shut it off if I didn't get it out of my landlord name. I have paid the gas bill for 1 year without knowing, please I do not have the money to pay the outstanding bill in my name to have it switched. I am on SSI and are having a hard time paying my rent and gas bills. I make 866, my son makes 160 and our rent is 975.
