I my name is Meghan and I was wondering if there were any programs to help with moving expenses as my heater broke - or can you fix it. I do receive food stamps and heap as well as I am on Section 8. Any help would be appreciated since II will need to move before the Maine winter sets in as can't live here without a heater. I have almost no help except my 11 year old daughter. Thank you

Hi,
If you want a "free" heater or repairs, that will really be from government programs like LIHEAP for energy bills and/or weatherization. Both are offered in Maine and find how to apply here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... zatio.html

Hello there! We currently have a heater a charity in Portland Maine placed in our home and it's currently not working. The heater has been there since August 2022. Does anyone know where I can get help with repairing it or discount places that help low income or senior citizens in Maine? Please inform me of such information. We figure we want to get it fixed now while maybe the prices are cheaper new before fall and winter starts. It is appreciated thank you and have a great day!
