Hello!
My name is Brandy, and I recently came to Norfolk, Virginia to leave an abusive marriage. I have found temporary housing with a friend, but I am unsure how long it will last, as he is not supposed to have anyone stay with him.
I am able to work and would love to become employed, I just have no means of getting around other than the city bus. I have zero money so I am unable to afford the bus fare or my rent or my bills or food. Which makes it impossible to go to interviews or get back and forth to a job should I be hired.
I am interested in help with bus fare and possible housing as well and I need food. I will have no choice but to return to my abuser should my friend's landlord find me staying here and not pay rent.
I simply want to get on my feet and make a life for myself in Norfolk where I can feel safe.
Who can I contact for some type of assistance?
