Hi Katie
Thank you for your work, effort, and giving back as a nurse and trying to help the veteran. Does the VA hospital have info for him on his benefits, such a SSVF, which may pay for storage costs? Or a case worker at the VA hospital in Albuquerque that can direct the client? Either way, storage help is not as common but look here for assistance in Albuquerque with rent that may cover storage too. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tance.html

Hello,
My name is Katie. I am a nurse at the VA hospital here in Albuquerque. For the past few weeks, I have been part of a team caring for a Korean War veteran who is homeless. According to him, the few possessions he does have were stored in a storage unit in downtown ABQ that he rented before he was hospitalized. He has no way to pay for his storage unit while in the hospital, as he does not have a credit or debit card. As staff, we are not able to lawfully access funds for him. If it would be possible to assist him in paying for the amount that he owes on his storage facility ($90 for overdue amount), it would ease his mind considerably.
Please feel free to contact me. His VA social worker, Laura, has been working on helping him locate the storage unit in Albuquerque as he couldn’t remember the exact name of the facility. We found out how much he owes. Please feel free to contact Laura too.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Katie, RN
