If you rent, but are having issues like major repairs, why is the landlord not fixing them? So that sounds off to us - something unusual with your request. But to answer your question, there are programs in Ormond Beach Fl and the county that may help you. Also since you are disabled and your mom is 85, also try an Agency on Aging center there in Ormond Beach for help with bills and the home.

Hello-
My name is TJ Petri of Ormond Beach Fl. I have been a social worker & foster parent (50 foster kids) for 5 years with a charity. I have spent 25 years serving central Florida's most desperate and torn apart families. I loved serving and was blessed to help many people put in my path.
fast forward to now- I am 58, with a disability with AVN ( degenerative bone disease) and Bi-lateral hip replacements. I also am the full time caregiver for my 85 year old mother. Now it is me who is in need of assistance, and to my dismay - I cannot seem to find the help I need.
My mom and I have rented our small place for 10 years. Last month we were hit hard with unexpected expenses- including our kitchen sink collapsing, all of our drains backed up, and refrigerator dying.
We are now behind 2 months on our rent and facing 3 days’ notice any time unless we get caught up. I am also behind on utilities. I owe 1600$ total.
My cell phone also died yesterday, and I am sharing my mom’s.
Can you all help us out of this crisis? It is not a regular occurrence -- just life happened to us.
