Hi! My name is, Tisha. I only say, I'm homeless. Because it’s not my home! My kids & my grand baby live with a family friend. In his 1bedroom. We sleep in the living room, on marble-like floors! Of course we have blankets. But over some Time, the blankets don't help.... We have been living/Staying here for a little over 8 months! I've must have written a 7-page letter 2 Newark city hall. I've emailed every nonprofit that popped up on Google. Yes! I'm dying and desperately wanting this help.
Not to mention, we deeply need help! It’s not a good feeling to be told to, get out. Every 4-5 days. Yes kids & all, been told to get out... Not a good feeling when its kids are involved. Now a baby! All I'm asking for is helping to get into an apartment. I can almost promise you, me & my family will never face a situation like this again. Not if we can help it! Because living with someone is the worst, family as well! But this person is way different! He wants me to sleep with him, to keep things at ease.
Meaning, he won't be telling me & my family to get out! But the hell with him, I'm not sleeping with nobody to keep or have a root over our head. He opens his door from his heart, but once here. It was a lot different... We had arguments in front of the baby. Because he has a drinking problem! Get drunk & talk Sheet to me, or my kids.... Look! Please help! I'm trying to keep my faith, & keep my cool. Yes! I cry a lot... But still maintaining my daily living.... Now! Last year I was a Lil homeless, but living with my daughter? I filed taxes for the 1st time, & with that money I got us home. So, thinking, when my state comes, I’ll use that to pay rent, or whatever back rent I own. Waiting for the states were taking way too long, so I went to pull out my license. Which expired! Yes!
I'm a, Chha. Certified home health aide. I luv & adore helping people.... Once I noticed my license, I decided to go to Newark Emergency. Those people there talk down to you. Make you feel worse than you did, be for coming to them! I've also been to Irvington neighborhood. Still no help!
I've spent 5 lovely months in a home that I couldn't keep. Because of rent. & no help! But as of the 31st I'll be paying to have my chha license back. So, I can go to work maintain & keep my next apartment! My daughter has orientation; my son works at a boys & girls club. He hasn’t been to school for almost 2yrs. I am damn if that'll be the case this school year! I want my son back in school, & he wants 2b there! He's a decent kid, which is by himself. He plays no parts in any gangs... I've been a Newark resident for over 10 years. & never gotten help with 1st month’s rent & security deposit!
That's all I want & need! So please help if can. I was told to contact, Ms. Karen At Catholic Charities, in Newark NJ... Can't seem to be reached...
