My name is Candace. I have been homeless for a long time, and I am not aware of any services that I might qualify for a second chance to rent a place. My daughter, Alexia, is 15 years old and has been in the custody of Denver Social Services since 2019. She was recently released from juvenile parole and could have paroled back to me, but I do not have stable housing. I need housing assistance, and I am running out of time before I have to return to court in January.
Lack of housing is the number one barrier preventing us from reuniting and closing this long case.
I am currently receiving Unemployment Insurance Assistance and am actively seeking employment. I am having a very hard time finding housing that is within my budget. Most nights I spend my money on motels. On the days I cannot afford a room, a friend lets me sleep in her car, or someone else allows me to sleep on their couch.
I do not know what to do anymore. I look for work every day and have had numerous interviews, but my background check continues to be an issue. Employers are not willing to give me a second chance, even though I am a good worker and just need an opportunity.
I am not aware of any resources that could help me. If you can assist me with any services and give me a chance, please contact me by email or by phone. Thank you.

Hi,
We have details on how second chance housing programs work as well as some companies that operate them. But there are options out there for you to consider, but these are not emergency programs. Second chance housing takes a while to get info, and get more details here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tions.html

My family is in need of emergency assistance now. to get into an apartment. I was evicted a year ago and just need a landlord to take a chance on me. We have nowhere to go. I've called all the shelters and they are full. Only ones are for men and I can't leave my family. Can you possibly help us with a place for a family or hotel and motel vouchers for a week or two while we look for second chance apartment programs that will give me a chance. Thank you and God bless everyone.

Hi, I'm a single mother of a 10 year old boy. I believe I have found an apartment for rent in DeKalb county TN and I go Monday to fill out a packet to rent at this place. But my credit is not great and I was evicted before. I just need the landlord to give me a second chance as I am more stable now.
I'm just emailing to see if I can get help with the deposit and first months rent. I'm a caregiver and get paid bi weekly a decent salary and the job is stable. I just don't have the money saved up and we are needing to have a second chance at our own place. We are currently living with my parents which are not in good health. I feel like it's time to move out and stop being a burden on them. Please let me know what I need to do to get help with the move in costs. Thank you for your time.
