Good morning,
I was wondering I anyone can point me into the direction where I could get assistance with my rent or legal aid for my public housing.
I lost my job due to covid, and when unemployment ended I was reduced to a third of my original income. I live in BMHA housing, and I I apply December7th 2023 for erap, wad told I meet the criteria and then basically waitlisted because I live in public housing. I currently owe 1958 in back rent. I have no where to turn for help at all but maybe legal help would buy me time. My rent is now 326 a month but a paycheck is only 247 every week. I'm barely getting by with food due to the rising costs of everything and I only receive a little amount of food stamps.
I also suffer from anxiety and depression and its really making it difficult to function normally with all this. Erap has no answers and don't get in touch with you regarding your status or anything, I'm on hold for over a half hour every time I call. I tried getting help from Mount olive Baptist church and thru downtown and still nothing. All my family is deceased as well so I have no where to turn and I'm at a giving up point.
I live at Buffalo NY 14211. I can be reached via this email, Any direction you can point me in to find some legal help for the public housing units I would appreciate so much. If not I will be homeless in the next coming months.
