Thousands in ambulance bills can be hard for anyone, especially on disability. Before paying a collection agency anything, I'd see if the ambulance company still owns the debt and ask if they have a hardship or financial assistance program as some do even after several months. Also look at Dollar For (https://dollarfor.org/) as they have good info on medical debt and charity care, though it depends who actually billed you.

I received a letter from creditors stating that I owe a lump sum of thousands of dollars in debt to the ambulance company. I need assistance because I checked my credit report and it doesn't look very well. Please give me some info on what to do to get assistance on helping me pay my ambulance medical bills. I need to know about programs or charities that could help me resolve this problem, thank you very much.
