Hi Kaela, Carla, Judy,
There are several government AC programs that may either help you 1) fix it or 2) get a new AC unit. That can be combined with help for the old bills. Look here for a wide range of air conditioner assistance programs.

I'm really not looking for help with utility bills (I'm trying to keep that under control if though the electric is much higher now). I'm looking for help to either pay someone to repair or replace our central air or help getting an air conditioner. I have contacted so many companies, but most AC companies want $100.00 or more just to come to my home. We are senior citizens just getting by on social security and don't have money to put out on extra expenses to fix a broken AC unit.
Please help us. We are in Texas and the weather will be getting extremely hot in the near future. I am 74 and my husband is 82. We both have medical conditions that make it hard to bear excessively hot temperatures.
Please let us know something.

I live in the city of Victorville in the state California. Who do I contact for assistance for my light bill as my AC unit broke and my landlord refuse to fix it so I had to buy small AC that are put in Windows but those units are running my light bill real high and is went into a spike more. I can't afford to pay my light bill but also can't be leaving in this heat either. No air is offered. Can you please give me the information I need to get help with this problem to fix the spike in my electric bills? Thank you hope to hear from you soon. Carla

Hello,
My name in Kaela. I'm a single mommy of a 5 year old. Our A/C was broken in our apartment for 2 weeks causing the A/C to constantly run to cool down our place. It caused my electricity bill to be $645.89. I was wondering if there was anyone who could please help me with this.
