Hey, I’m looking for help with rental and financial resources in Salt Lake County Utah for help. I am just struggling to pay rent and meet other basic needs. Would you help me?

Hello, my fiancé and I are new to Salt Lake City Utah and in need of assistance in getting into an apartment. I know that there are rapid rehousing programs but they require you to be homeless and living in their homeless shelters. I spent nearly half of my life homeless in Florida.
I have avoided being homeless now over 6 years since moving to Wyoming and now Salt Lake. My last experience in a homeless shelter was 20013 in Jacksonville Florida. I was 29. I was kidnapped, sexual assaulted and beaten for hours by a man who 6 months later. He then went on and murdered a man. The DNA evidence from my case put Mr. John Smalls in prison for life without parole for murder and serial *.
I do not think I can bring myself to stay in a homeless shelter again. My fiancé and I are currently living in a precarious situation and we cannot hold out much longer before something bad happens I feel. We are both employed and just need help getting in a place in Salt Lake (which is so expensive) without having to put myself in back in one of those places. We are trying to find an apartment in a city between north Salt Lake and Layton Utah. If you can connect us with somebody...there are rats’, ants and bed bugs which we are allergic to. I am threatened and intimidated daily. Thank you for any help

Hello both of you,
Seems you both have a long list of needs, such as housing, rent, and money for utilities for your apartment. There are some charities and other places you can try for the rent help in SLC, but deposit help tends to be a little more challenging. And the Utah's state social social services are limited, but try this for a list of rent assistance in Salk Lake.

We really need help with our housing. Please let us know if you can do or if you know who can help with rent and bills. We received over payment from DWS. I don't know why they give us over-payment but we spent the money, now they want it back and now we can't pay our rent. We always reported our income but I don't know why, and I have 3 kids only my husband is working it's very hard for us to pay that, please.

Hello,
I live in Salt Lake City Utah. I am in desperate need of rental assistance. I’m 34 years old I am not married and have no children. I am currently living/sleeping in a car with my 2 best friends (dogs) Lady and scabby. I have had those 7+ years. They are the only friends and family I have. A side from not having children I have had no luck with finding help so that my dogs and I can stay together. I lost my job that I cherished for many years working as a care support provider with people with developmental delays. Due to the loss of my father in 2012. I turned to marijuana to help cope with his loss which consequentially caused me to get my first drug conviction. Which prevented me to continue working in that field. That devastating news was very heartbreaking. I fell into a deep depression. I just recently become employed again. But I am struggling with the cost of a deposit and all the expense of moving into a new place. (With 2 dogs) I feel if I could find some help with those expenses I could maintain the monthly expenses thereafter. All though I don't make much money. I feel I could continue. I just started working at Macy's in Fashion place mall. I work about 30 -35 hours a week and my hourly pay is 10.00. I have tried to keep my spirits high and believe there is hope for me and my dogs. Please help me. Please. I hope I hear from someone soon. God bless.
Sincerely,
