Since you mention multiple cities in OH, try this for a list of local rental assistance programs in the state. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... grams.html

First of all, my name is Samuel.
I used to live in Lorain County Ohio back around 2020. I lived there with my girlfriend, her two daughters, and my son. When we moved in, she said she found a place that would help us with our utilities where we would pay half and they would cover the other half. She did that, but she never explained that if the contract was broken, we would have to pay everything back. I wasn’t aware of that, because that’s not what she told me.
Now, I’m trying to move back to Lorain County, but I can’t because she left behind unpaid bills $3,200 with the gas company and $1,100 with the electric company. I’m disabled and trying to find out if someone can give me a helping hand.
Thank you, and God bless.
Samuel

Hi Lanette,
If you were working, can you get like FMLA? Was the hip injury caused from a job? But as far as your bills, there are also payment plans from OH utility companies too like PIPP. Have you tried those? We also have other resources too with details here at local and state OH assistance programs.

I'm emailing you to get any information that you have about getting help with rent and bills in Ohio. I am living in income based townhome right now in Cleveland. I was working up until a year ago and I started having issues with walking and moving around because of my lower back and right hip.
I'm just recently found out that I have to have hip surgery that won't be available for me to do until the end of December. I do have Medicaid and SNAP. I do have In-Home Care paid for by my Medicaid and now I'm just in a situation where I need help paying utilities and rent. Please contact me and send me any information you can thank you.

Hello,
My name is Kisha and I host a prayer room on Facebook for people in Ohio.
I love your site. Thank you. I’ve shared it and it’s just very helpful. Someone I pray with; her van is broken, and she can’t yet afford to get it looked at. She may be elder as well or over 50 years of age, but I’m not sure. Are there any resources in Akron OH that may be able to help her in some way? Work with her to get it to a repair shop where it may be evaluated?
Any help or direction you can provide would be excellent. Thank you for sharing your resources, gifts and talents.

I really hope you can help me in the Cuyahoga County area Ohio with emergency housing assistance,
for there or for Lorain County , North Ridgeville. I was in need assistance coming up with the down payment to move in to a place I have found. Some help on first month's rent, also. The total would exceed $1,000 to move in. With my low paying jobs, it just hasn't been feasible.
It is needed desperately in order to leave an abusive housing situation that has taken a toll on my health for years. There is an income source through work, but it is not sufficient.
I only have about $60.00 left in the world, other than a very small ROTH IRA which is for retirement only.
I am single, never married, 50 years old and no children!
Please do not give me phone numbers to call but, rather, some emails of who to speak to. I have contacted the county and they never got back on this issue.

find a list of the Butler County assistance programs that may help you and the two of you. But if you have a paycheck coming that is great news, as it will help you get that rent and financial help you need for just the one month.

With waiting for the first paychecks we have noticed we will be unable to make all of the rent this month (625$) we are in search of assistance to help pay this one month of rent.

Since you are now working, even at a temp agency, and you have immediate need for and all the charities, etc. turned you down, cash try an emergency loan in Columbus. But be sure to try every other option first...a loan comes with risks and is a last resort.

I just moved into an apartment in Columbus Ohio and I work at a temp agency and I have recently got a new project but this time it’s not as easy as I thought it would be. I have no food, no furniture and I just bought a new car and I can't pay it off and then on top of that my window got busted out of my car and I don't get paid for another two weeks. I really need some help. If someone can at least call me back and tell me if they can or even if you can't help me that would be greatly appreciated. Please call me.

Hi, I am a resident of Butler County, Ohio. I currently reside in Fairfield, Oh. I am requesting assistance with paying my electric bill and possibly help with some of my rent. I recently lost a good paying job and we have been struggling to keep up financially. I have two small children to care for also. Thank you for your time and any help you can give.

Those are just an excessive number of bills. You need to work more than 16 hours a week. The job market is very strong right now and most employers are struggling to find people to hire. But, if you really need financial help, here are programs in Ohio. Also, use a food pantry in addition to the Ohio Job & Family benefits you are receiving. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... grams.html

We have information on resources for every single County and own in Ohio. We also have statewide programs too, such as HEAP. So that is the good news. If your hours have been cut, then look for another job, or sign up for the job training services. Also, utility companies do offer PIPP as you said, and find financial aid in Ohio.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am in need of financial assistance to pay rent, utilities, past due medical bills, and car payments. I have been trying for several months to get a full time job but was able to get part time employment only which is paying $8.10 an hour working 16 hours a week. This only covers one bill that I have to pay and nothing else, so I have fallen behind on my bills.
I have been approved for food stamps through Ohio Job & Family Services but not for any cash assistance.
I am 60 years old and never thought I would be in this situation so I'm having a hard time dealing with the pressure of stress, so I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thanks

Is this place where you might get help? I have called all local agencies who have long ago quit doing anything for the poor or the money is gone and they can't. Please help me understand how we, the needy and disabled, get anything service wise. Angel Foods ministries have long sine gone bankrupt from people within the agencies stealing all the money from us, the disabled and needy poor folks. Seriously, if the government is ever going to help us we need it now!
Can you suggest where we can find help in Columbus Ohio. Any kind? I need it as my rent has tripled, my income a measly $700/month, but for help there is none.
In hopeful hands I await your answer. Thanks for listening,

Hello,
I live in Akron, Ohio. I live in a house that I rent with my two young daughters. Recently, my hours have been cut at work and its been hard paying my bills. I wanted to find out if there are any organizations in my area that may help with rent assistance and utility assistance. I have been trying to get on PIPP but I keep getting a message that all the appointments are filled. I would really appreciate any help that I could get. Thank you so much.

I live in FL but am reaching out for help for a friend of mine who lives in Columbus, OH. He is literally in a fight for his life and is desperate need of assistance. He has been trying to work and make ends meat but has hit a very low point in his life. His wife has taken everything and has had his car taken and utilities shut off.
To top all that off his desperation and depression has weighed on him so heavily that a week and a half ago he tried to take his own life. He is out of the hospital and is living in a home with no utilities. He wants to turn his life around but doesn't know where to turn. I myself do not have the funding to assist him and feel helpless to get him back on my feet. Any information or assistance for such a kind hearted man that he is would be more than appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Never worry about asking for help. The economy, especially in Toledo Ohio, is still weak, and many families need a little support for the first time ever. There are programs from community action for rent or utilities, but help for insurance doesn't exist. So have your friend apply to these programs from Toledo community action agency.
