Hi my name is Kari. I live in Stamford CT. I have never asked for any type of help from charities before, but I did take a friend last year to a church sponsored by the Salvation Army in Norwalk where they paid $100 of your energy bill. I was wondering if you could find out that Church for me or other ways to get the help with the energy bill in Connecticut. I signed up for energy assistance already, but they want paystubs and I did send them, but they asked again and nothing. Thank you

The Salvation Army sometimes has fuel bill help. But not guaranteed. It is usually offered during the cold Connecticut winters. But SSI disability will not be enough money for you....you need another option. Find assistance here.

I've been getting the runaround for approximately a year and a half now regarding trying to apply for some sort of utility/fuel assistance. I am living on long term disability payments while waiting on social security disability. My taxable income for 2014 was a little over $4,000. Ever source, which is what was both CL&P and Yankee Gas, sends me to the department of Social Services. They told me to go to the 211infoline website. That sent me to either dead links, which your pages also gave me non-existent emails that bounced and/or phone numbers that have been disconnected.
The Salvation Army in Winsted doesn't exist anymore; a yogurt place is going in that building soon I think. The Winchester/Winsted Fuel Bank does not exist anymore. My apartment is entirely electric, heat and hot water, the stove, everything.
My bill this past month, thanks to the rate hikes by Eversource recently, was over $400. I need help. I don't have a printer, so I can't download and print out anything. No cell phone, nothing like that. (I was forced to move to Winsted mid-March due to my apartment building in Bristol being condemned out of the blue and they gave me and another disabled couple 5 days to move out. I don't have friends or family around here, no access to a printer. ) I need forms for whatever kind of utility & fuel assistance I can possibly get mailed to me in Winsted CT 06098. Thank you,
