Hi! I don't know who else to contact. Anywhere I call in my state leads me back to my County in Missouri and I have talked to my worker she has no resources for helping children receive new school clothes or getting food. I’m a single mother of 2. Soon to be 5th grader and 1st grader.
I work full time at 12 dollars an hour, we live in an income-based townhome out KC, but low rent doesn’t mean everything else comes cheap. I stopped receiving child support about 2 years ago and struggling to pay them food much less pay the bills. Kid’s dad now works for cash to take care of himself and waste money on trips to the movies instead of helping us.
Each year at this time is a struggle, I've been recently getting kids clothes from thrift stores etc. but it seems the older they get the more they don't like being that kid without brand new shoes or t-shirts. They do great and act like its ok, but I can see the sadness in their eyes. Breaks my heart.
There has to be some kind of program in my area for food and school? Maybe a food pantry that can help with snacks for school lunch, back-to-school clothes, shoes? Please tell me if you have great news and can point me in the right direction. I’m getting really anxious about school, and the kids can tell. Please help.

Hi,
In addition to the link to the food banks and pantries listed above (in this thread), there are also DSS programs too. Like SNAP food stamps and emergency groceries too. Find the government food benefits here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tance.html

I am asking for help for my son and food for my two grandchildren in the State of Missouri. He is definitely below poverty level ($12,500 in 2023) with three people in the household. He is a floor installer, working 6 days a week but can't afford groceries or the bills. For this reason I am helping him try to get some help and feed my 2 grandchildren! He has full custody and the mother hasn't ever paid child support for the last two years. I just recently sent in the application to have her reported for no child support. I have also sent an application for emergency food stamps. He could also use some help with utilities (gas and electric) not to mention food right now!! I pray he can get some help! Please contact me with further instructions on emergency food in Missouri, if it's at all possible!

I have to go to court on December 16, 2018 to see if I am going to get evicted. I am 37 and pregnant. I have a lot of physical and mental disabilities. I have no family in Toledo and I'm trying to get my daughter back from cab.
I own about 4,000 dollars in rent. I really need help. My roommate moved out and I was not able to pay all the bills on my own. I have a budget plan now and can now cover my rent but I will still need help with the balance I now owe. If you know of any programs that can help please contact me ASAP. Thank you very much.

Well, good call in that you can supplement your food with a pantry. So you should pay your rent and other costs first so you are not homeless, then turn to a food bank in Missouri. There are thousands of them to try in all counties and areas. Also try coupons if you only have $100 for a few weeks. But here are the pantries. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... banks.html

My family of 5 moved to a new 2 bedroom apartment in St. Louis Missouri to be closer to my husbands work and better school for our kids. I had a temporary position that I thought was suppose to last 6 months but it lasted 8 weeks.
We are now drowning in bills. While they are getting paid, we aren't too late on them but got a pay or quit notice. Finally got rent paid but for the price of our food, but now we are very low on groceries. We hardly have anything. We need help.
Bills are starting to pile and we can't afford late fees, and the pantries are scarce. But we can't pay anymore bills. We only have 100 for food for three weeks. Wish we could get out of our lease and into a cheaper apartment even if it's just a one bedroom. We can't afford much.
