Hello,
My name is Steven. I live in Topeka, Kansas. I'm 50 years old with multiple reasons for a claim in progress for my Social Security Disability and really need help applying.
In addition, I need a list of any and all churches in Topeka, Kansas providing Rent Assistance. My rent is only $202.00, so it's not a lot, but I was unable to pay it, when it was due. The two reasons I need assistance are because so long to get the disability and not having money since the accident. As 1. I was hit by a car while as a pedestrian crossing a street back in February. 2. plus I spent a month in a local mental hospital right after recovering from issue 1. So I was out of work for 9.5 weeks (5.5 + 4).
Thank you very much,
Steven

Another option is to use a disability advocate. If you decide on this path, review the contract closely. There should be no fees due, unless they are successful. Even then they should only take a portion of what you back claim may be. Ensure you use an advocate that has been approved / certified by the federal government, and learn more on help from disability advocates.

He should be able to work this out with the HR department at the job he had when injured. The doctor needs to address his mistake and correct the documents then HR should be able to do something on his behalf. SS disability takes upwards of two years average to obtain, he needs help now. Have him call for resources and use any listed here for his state.

I am sending this E-Mail because a friend of mine is out of work due to a disability. His short term disability benefits were terminated because the doctors office failed to report that he remains unable to work. He has applied for disability through social Security but due to the government shut-down determination has not been made. He has applied for emergency assistance through social services. He was advised that unless he pays his rent soon he will have to leave his residence. He has no money and does need help.
