have job and $$ but no one will rent to us why?

My husband works 40 hrs a week while I take carre of our girls. We bring in about 1100 a month plus another 2-400 in childsupport. We've been told from 4 apartments that we dong make enough $$ (im talking small $600 a month apartments). Are there any places for us to get help with this? We live in Bettendorf Iowa.

Here is our main link to programs in Iowa, including housing and resources in Scott County. Unfortunately we don't set the rules on income limits, etc. Also, unfortunately and hate to say that most agencies have very limited funding and due to high demand, most people can't be helped.
