It is your mortgage - home loan, or taxes. Regardless, either way, find a listing of ways to get mortgage help. We have dozens of programs listed from banks, lenders, and federal and state government solutions and agencies to call. So many places are focused these days on housing issues.

I need help. I lost my job over a year ago. My Mom died last April leaving me a house, with a $7,000.00 home equity loan/mortgage and other debt. My mother in law is having financial issues and is a constant drain on our dwindling finances. My husband is the only one working, and my unemployment benefits have run out. I am trying desperately to sell my mother's home, and I am asking $17,00.00 less than the appraised value. no luck... The bank is threatening to foreclose. I need help to pay off the bank and the loan, and sell that house. We are drowning!

Sounds like it is a combination of debt and housing/mortgage issues. In those cases try to talk to a non-profit that addresses both of those issues, and that can help you get back on track with all bills and loans. Also look into a short sale with your bank. But talk to a professional, and you can find Maryland HUD and debt counseling agencies listed on our main site. They are probably the best places to start in your quest for help.

Hello,
We are behind on our home equity loan payment and are close to foreclosure. We need some assistance while we get back in our feet. I have just gotten done with cervical cancer that required a full hysterectomy at 29 years old and have a 2 year old little girl. I was unable to work due to the treatment and my husband had to take care of me. We are already on food stamps. We are finally back to work but so far behind on the home equity loan we have we cannot catch up. I also have a rare condition called schoriatic arthritis and it makes it so I cannot do very much. But I work from home on the Internet.
If there is any help please we are in need.

Hello My Name is Jamie,
Earlier this year I was a few weeks away from dying. I have several chronic illnesses, one of which is called Ehlers Danlos syndrome (EDS). EDS is a connective tissue disorder causing the body to not use collagen correctly. To get the medical treatment I need we took out a home equity loan, now I need help to pay it off.
Which for me means I have frequent dislocations of all my joints, for example, jaw, hips, ribs, shoulder, neck, spine and more. The instability in my neck was so extreme that c1 was slipping 10 mm and it was cutting off the blood supply in my brain. Which lead to extreme symptoms. I had constant seizures and full paralysis migraines, facial drooping, memory loss and so much more. I couldn’t see my kids for months other then them quietly coming in and giving me a quick soft hug.
Because any stimulation would cause a train of seizures. My little daughters are my world! Ella is 6yr old and Eva Is 4yr old (3yr old at the time of surgery which was March 1, 2022) . It was impossibly difficult to be away from them! My husband was spoon feeding me and picking me up anytime I fell. After endless dry doctor not having the answers I read medical papers and found out I had craniometrical instability. We found Dr to do the diagnostic test and found out my only option was to have a neck fusion and brain surgery, in order to save my life. Traditional fusion would not work for me due to EDS and the severity of my instability.
Thankfully less than 10 years ago a new fusion was developed with I paid for using the home quity loan. I got a surgery performed by Dr. Joel Frank in Tampa Florida. Due to the operation being new it is still considered experimental and not covered by insurance. The surgery cost 65,000 not including all the testing and doctor we went to before trying to figure out what was wrong. All the medical bills just from this last year were over 100,000. Our household income is 48,000 and that's only the last 6 months prior to that it was 38,000. We had to pay for surgery up front.
So we got a home equity line of credit. Despite the fact we have paid off 15,000 ourselves in the last 6 months and received 65,000 donations from individuals. We still owe over 35,000 and our interest rate just went from 1.02 to 7.2. This is financially killing my family. I am only 27 and we have spent over 180,000 in medical bills in the 8 years we have been married. Due to the complexity of my illness, most expenses and specialists aren't covered by insurance. We are seeking help with medical expenses and pray for heaven's help to lighten this burden. Here is a video that explains our situation. Any help at all is wonderful and we are beyond grateful thank you for taking time to read this email.
