Yes, payday loans should be very last option, if an option at all. Try all of the assistance agencies, programs, and charities in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania first. Also try calling your utility company for grants and aid. Here is our main link for Pennsylvania assistance programs. Scroll down for aid specific to Pittsburgh. Off this page is information on clinics, heating and electric bill help in PA and Pittsburgh, clinics, and how to get many other forms of financial assistance. On the left margin is some information on loans and other options for money, but if your credit is so poor then options are limited.

Got unemployment, have well over 100 saved emails proving I have been looking for work for a year in a half, not sitting around collecting on purpose. No income for almost 2 mths, as PA got rid of "tier 4 extension. "
Was in an abusive relationship, had strength to leave in July, great right?? But now... I had my power shut off today. Owe 264 for restoration. Rent for November is late...owe 600. And I will lose my car Friday if I do not pay 1004 dollars.
Yes, I have tried payday loans...can't get anything without an income. Power company will not go lower than 264...I pleaded. I'm writing this in the dark on my phone... The bank (with my car) will not give me past friday (amazes me since I'm literally only 48 days late, nothing super outrageous). I have NO ONE to ask for this loan of 1900 dollars. I have tried credit unions...nope. I can not get a loan anywhere and am hoping someone is able to loan me the money.
The only plus of this 'plea for help' from a peer? I did finally get a job and I start 11/28/11:) I have the emails to confirm. I do need my car to get there:( So, I will have no problem paying someone back. I can discuss my future paydays, etc for the repayment with someone, a peer, who can help me out.
Is there anyway possible for my power to be paid tomorrow? My car paid friday? My rent paid this week, obviously sooner the better...it was due the 1st.
Thank you for your time and I'm praying to hear from a peer today...I've read other posts and everyone seems to be directed to the same website. I did read the site, which was how I found this site to ask peers for help...
