Hi,
Again, where? All LIHEAP are state run, even though federally funded. Maybe try a senior center (since you say you are 70) as maybe they have some tips on getting through to the LIHEAP office in your area, but here is information on senior centers. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... nters.html

I said anywhere you think I could get help as I have no idea how to get the LIHEAP office to reply as such a backlog and need some idea. I would greatly appreciate it I just turned 70 years old and I do work part-time as my letter state helping the less fortunate among us.

Hello,
I live in Rio Rancho and I am needing money in paying my energy bill from LIHEAP My husband lost his job, and just got released from the hospital. Our rent is $2000.00 and with my income or money we cannot make ends meet. I am needing to get some financial assistance with this. I have applied for food stamps and LIHEAP and hope to get assistance soon.
What do I need to see if I qualify for assistance from low income energy? I do work full time but there is no way we can make our rent right now with my income only. Once the doctor clears him, he will be actively looking for a job.
Thank you.
Anna

Hi,
There are obviously different states listed above (FL, GA, etc.) and each state is different. In fact, some states even call LIHEAP a different name. But look here for grant money from your states LIHEAP program (or equivalent). https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tance.html

Hi Maureen and others
There is a crisis LIHEAP program - some state have a different income level for that. Also that LIHEAP will pay out money is less time too so there are pros to this service, and look here for crisis LIHEAP programs. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... p_cri.html

Having a hard time paying utility bills right now. My mom passed away in March and I've been taking care of her for the last 20 years and her social security payroll. Now I have to pay the bills without an income and I'm having a very hard time as LIHEAP somehow says I do not qualify as income too much even though my mom passed. Not to mention all the other stuff in the unit. I'm trying to start my life all over again and get back on my feet. I'd appreciate it if I could get some information as soon as possible to help me with my water bill too. My electric bill is past due and my electric will be turned off soon without money. Thank you and have a blessed day, Maureen

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program is known as EAP in Georgia. It is generally open for applications several months per year, so apply when you can. Learn more on Georgia EAP.

Look into an online application. As most states versions of LIHEAP offer it. But nothing we can do if someone doesn't call you back...sadly but welcome to life. Most places, including private companies, struggle with "live" customer service. Anyway, look here for how to get LIHEAP online.

Hi,
I’m in need of assistance for applying for LIHEAP, the agencies listed for SpringhIll, TN Maury County do not call us back. Many others do not offer LIHEAP help or bill assistance. Non of the agencies listed on your webpage represent Maury County.
Please help, as I also called Middle Tennessee Electric and they don’t have any accurate information for my county either, the ones listed on their website are all irrelevant to SpringHill, TN Maury County.

There are other places (besides LIHEAP offices) that may help with AC units. Charities, the Salvation Army, and other places may either (1) give them out for free or (2) sell low-cost, gently used air conditioners. South Carolina has many too. Locate where to get a free air conditioner.

I live in Wellford, SC which is part of Spartanburg. I have filed for my disability and I am currently waiting for a response from the closed LIHEAP office. In the meantime I have learned that my utilities cannot be shut off because of this. I understand I owe money but the utility companies don't seem to want to work with me as far as a payment plan so I now have no power or water which also means no food because I have no way to keep it cold not to mention that's it's been up in the 90° temps with a heat index well over that...I need help from LIHEAP and don't know what to do or where to turn.

Hi, I'm a single mother of two little girls. I'm in sever need of Low Income Energy Assistance Program. I live in Rockmart GA, Polk county. I have been calling my local agencies for assistance for two weeks and everyone are out of funds until the first of December. My local agencies are Rockmart  United funds, Tallapoosa HRDC, DHR (DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES) and my power company (GA POWER) they referred me to salvation army.
I called one local office but I got the voice mail that informed me that funds are out until December as well. My power will be disconnected on the 8th of September. I'm sorry for such a  short notice but as I mentioned in the beginning I have been calling agencies for two weeks. I have ran out of options. My total utility amount is $545.44 but my disconnection prevention amount due by the 8th of September is $292.34. So my concerned question is what do I do now? I'm also be in search of rent assistance but not sure where to being to assist the issue  some of the agencies I tried to contact mention it in the ads or voice mail but I'm back to square one. Funds are not available at this time for Low Income Energy Assistance Program. Please contact me ASAP and thanks in advance!!!

I don't have a disconnect notice yet because it's not due until the 18th but I was wondering if there's light bill help without disconnect notice from LIHEAP when income is too high. I don't know that I'd qualify as low income because I make too much money for food stamps though my son does have Medicaid. On paper I make money but I have a mountain of debt. I've been having to basically live off of credit cards to buy groceries for months but now those are maxed out and the minimum payments are killing me. I live in a rural community where there's just not a lot of resources especially with my work schedule as far as if I wanted to go to a food bank. But my light bill that's due in just a few days is just over $300 because I have a 2 story house. So if I could get any help for people with higher income from LIHEAP with that BEFORE the due date it would help because after the due date they'll tack on an extra $20 to my bill that I can't already afford.

Sorry. There is nothing we can do if an office is closed. Google for a new number or location. Or drive by it as you had 3 years to take some form if initiative. Stop complaining and do something productive with your time. As far as toll free numbers, try this for the state of California LIHEAP office as there are other programs out there.

ANYWAY, I'd love to hear about any links to any assistance to help pay utilities or offer small amounts to help with rent. Thanks and God Bless!

My power bill is in my name, in Carrollton County Georgia. I no longer live at the house but my ex-husband and my 2 year old son do. My ex has been paying for everything that my son needs but the power was disconnected this morning and they've had to throw out an entire food supply. Is there any way to get LIHEAP grant assistance to this location so that my son has power and possibly food? The address is Waco, Georgia, 30182.

Well, as you said you need alot more then energy bill help. So not sure how that in itself will assist you, but trying applying for LIHEAP in Hawaii. Maybe the community action agency can help you, or tell you where to go for that "laundry" list of needs.

Dear Folks,
Thanks ahead of time for your help! I've been looking over the needhelppayingbills site, and it takes me in circles, with no real direct help--but maybe I am missing out on the right link? Can you provide any details or #s on what and who to call about getting rent and/or utilities help?
I used to get LHEAP help with utilities in my Hollywood apartment, but then the HEAP stopped for two years in Hollywood. Apparently it started back up for all areas, but then the LIHEAP Hollywood link is blocked or not in service, despite what all the other neighborhoods. Good Morning, I don't know where to begin or what center to go to. Here it goes I will try to make it short and to the point. This is all new to me I have never had to ask for help before but my husband and I are in a position where we have to. He lost his job about 18 months ago as a HS English teacher. Since then he has been subbing and we have been able to get by as I work as well. (We have 3 children as well).
We were doing ok up until December when the school he was subbing at had 18 days off for Christmas. We have one problem we need to be able to get just one delivery of oil just to get us over this hump. As of right now we are almost empty.
We have tried LHEAP but the office was closed, and then we were denied we make just over the limit. I don't know where else to turn too. If you can't help believe me I understand but if you know where I can turn to for any advice or information on LIHEAP sites that would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance for any help or assistance you could be would be greatly appreciated.
