I need help with past rent, Aug - Oct 2010. I am currently trying the local agencies here. Do anyone have any other suggestions?

Here is a listing of different agencies, charities, and other organizations in Detroit and Wayne County. Some of these places may be able to help with rent or evictions.

You can try the Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency at 734-246-2280
Neighborhood Legal Services runs the homeless prevention programs, which is funded by stimulus dollars and may be able to offer money for paying rent. Their number is (313) 964-1975.
