Me and my boyfriend have been both unemployed for a little now and I just started a job but by time I get paid it will be too late to pay electric and will only have a few dollars on that pay check. We can’t afford to have the electric shut off cause we have a 9 month old baby. Please call me.

Yes, this is the right place to send emails. While you say you can live without gas, the good news is that there is assistance for all types of utility bills, including electric, gas, and others in Georgia. A lot will really depend on who your energy company is too. So while you did not mention them, we can provide you some general information. Find the details on these resources here. Read Georgia utility assistance programs.

Hello, unfortunately I live in the state of Kentucky. I have had trouble with my electric company this month. I have paid my bills on time since I established service in August. This month of March I received a bill but was unable to pay it. It was due the third and I was sent a disconnect notice on the fourth. I went in and told them that I could pay the whole bill but it would not be until the 19. They shut off the service on the 12. Due to this I have lost all my food and have had to spend more to eat out and try to go to places for warmth. My job performance has suffered due to my problems with arthritis and a skin condition. I told them to finalize the bill so I would not be charged the extra reconnect fee and to send the rest of the deposit to me. They found a way to take the whole deposit plus charge me 19 more dollars. It costs 245 as a deposit which is more than I can handle right now having to buy all my food out and having no way to cook it. I was also affected by being robbed at gunpoint earlier this year and losing $2100 which can never be recovered. To make matters worse the reason why I could not afford it was because I was also a victim of job discrimination and lost time from work to that. I also lost my first paycheck from my new job due to a case of ID theft with my bank. It seems that Kentucky is the worst place to live and need help. If there are any ways to get assistance please let me know. I can even pay it back in March when I receive my school money. Thank you for your help.

I live in Warner Robins Georgia. I have gone to many different places and asked many different people if they could assist me with help with my bills. I do not have very expensive bills, but with no one working in the home at this time I'm struggling badly. My daughter lost her job and TANF has giving my kids the run around they want even be able to get their kids Christmas Toys. I was doing my online classes, but with the struggle I almost have to drop out do to financial issues. My gas is two months behind and it is about $87.00 and my lights are about the same close to $90.00. I have Flint Energies. I really can live without the gas, but I really need the electric. PS I'm not sure if I'm in the right place to be sending emails. I just been trying everything I can to get some assistance, when you not able to get around. I don't even have a car to get to other places. Help me if you can.

I am a single disabled mom of four looking for utility bill assistance in Cobb County Georgia. My only income is social security disability. I have applied for Veterans Disability assistance because I am a Desert Storm Veteran but was denied because of a couple of months short of active duty during Desert Storm. I also have custody of my God Daughter she is 4 years old. I receive only medical for my God Daughter and my children. I need help in finding out how I can receive help to take care of her and information on adoption assistance. Information on agencies that can help with utility and or section 8 information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help with this matter.

To Whom:
I am in need of 109.00 dollars to pay June's (2012) electricity bill as a one-time act. I am also 200.00 dollars short on my house payment for June (2012). Because of my energy assistance ending and extra medical bills & extra costs of auto licensing, & insurance fees, I am not able to cover the entire cost of all my bills for June 2012.
If any help can be awarded at this time for a one-time help, I will be able to make it through the month. And then be able to cover each bill here after. I am a low-income resident of Lansing Michigan, on SSI. It pays me 698.00 dollars each month. It just isn't enough for this month with all the extra bills that I was hit with at this time. Each month is a struggle of course but I manage usually to pay most, just not this once. I have never asked for assistance before, so this is Really hard for me to do, but was told by a health care adviser that you maybe could help me. And this is one time I Really need to ask for help. I didn't know where to turn to. Thank-you for your time & assistance in this matter.

We assume you have Consolidated Edison, as they really focus on the greater New York City area. The health care and nursing industry is still hiring and growing, so you are right in that it should just be a matter of time. So look into the various Consolidated Edison utility assistance programs and options that are administered here. They have payment plans, government assistance, and options like LIHEAP too.

I came across your site on the web and maybe you can help direct me. I am a Registered Nurse who lost her Nursing job about a year ago.. I have been able to pick up a little per diem work and not much more. Have sent out resumes for probably thousands of jobs, few interviews and right now without work at all. I know something is going to break, but hopefully not before I do. I live in Manhattan and am close to losing my utilities. I have a payment due for electric, but if i pay it i will not eat, phone and internet to go next. I have been struggling along, but now I am very hungry, tired, and weary. Imagine, an RN and can't find work. So, if you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate. It is overwhelming trying to find resources and nooe calls you back. I thank you in advance for your assistance.

Thank you for the comments and you are welcome. We try to help as many people as possible. There are places in Virginia Beach, but if you do want to look into other parts of the state, here are your Fairfax Virginia assistance programs. You can always try calling the different programs in say Fairfax and ask them for advice or more local resources too.

Thank you tremendously for your website! I never knew about LIHEAP being a Federal program. I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia and cannot find a community action center here to apply for LIHEAP Crisis Assistance. My electricity was cut off 3 days ago and I'm freezing. I read how LIHEAP will pay for emergency reconnection which means I don't have to freeze this weekend and tonight or go hungry for 3 more days until the start of next week. I just can't find anywhere in Virginia to apply except in Fairfax and that is only for Fairfax residents. Whatever you can do to help me apply for this today helps, but your website has been the greatest help of all. Thank you so much for it and for the time and dedication of everyone who set it up.

Why is the town trusteee office in Indiana denying you? Your request didn't make much sense. The town office is suppose to be the place to call for emergency help in Indiana for utilities, rent, and other needs. While of course what they can do is limited, they are still a leading option. Anyway, try also looking into more Indiana electric bill assistance programs and resources, including covering the town of Muncie.

Here is information for assistance in Cleveland County Oklahoma. So you may find some more agencies or churches that they can call which would be in addition to places they may have already tried. If you expect future income from workers comp, then just ask for a payment plan from utility company. Must will offer this if you just need a little more time to pay your electric bill.

They have 2 small children as well. We are certain this is all temporary and things will be back on track as soon as this Workers Comp is settled. In fact, we had thought it would have been over way before now. But suddenly we all find ourselves with our last dollar in site. Any suggestions for some emergency help would be so very much appreciated.

Do they offer a program for people with young children as many utility companies do. they do not want the young to suffer. If anything it is bad PR for them. For Memphis Light Gas and Water call them at 901-527-0208 and ask about a program known as Plus 1. It is run by an organization known as Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA) and may offer some financial assistance. Read more on Tennenessee electric bill help programs.

you may try your town clerk, ask for the township trustee's phone number. Also check with Salvation Army.

You have come to the right place for information. We can provide you phone numbers and info, but you need to make the calls and apply to programs, etc. Try this for assistance in Cobb County, including Marietta and your town in Smyrna Georgia. Call the non-profits, agencies, charities, etc. and ask them for financial help and referrals.
Of course always call your utility provider in GA too. A listing of Georgia utility assistance can be found, and each energy provider is listed with phone numbers and programs noted. Who is your utility company, Georgia Power?
