Hello. I relocated to Myrtle Beach a few months ago. I am collecting social security survivor's benefits monthly. I am struggling financially right now and am behind on my car and rent. I am not able or cannot afford to take out a loan to help. I need to find some funding to help me pay the taxes on my car and get it registered as well as pay about $200 in rent I owe.
I am very nervous that it will be taken away from me due to this. I keep trying to put together enough money to get it done, but something always gets in the way. I had money taken out of my checking account and am fighting to get it returned; the cost of my move took all of my savings from the sale of my home in Texas. My manufactured house here in Myrtle Beach is completely paid for, but I have a monthly land lease that I owe the rent on. I just need some help in getting the registration completed and money for the rent so I can stop worrying.

There are multiple non-profits you can try for help in the Myrtle and Horry County area. We have a directory of places with financial assistance here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... rogra.html
There is Churches Assisting People, Helping Hands, and even elder centers too we have noted. So apply there. And we are sorry for your loss that causes you to rely on social security survivor's benefits.

I am sending this email and need of help. I lost my job in March and I am a food service worker in Myrtle Beach so it has been hard to find work and pay the bills. I do have a job but it doesn't pay much I make about $50 a day but I'm doing that until I can find something else and I also am waiting on my unemployment to come. But I need help paying my rent and utility bills and to fix my car. My landlord in Myrtle Beach is ready to evict me. I'm too much short 2 month 2 months.

Hi
In addition to the main Horry County link in this thread, there are other one-off charities to turn. Some of these focus on part-time workers or the unemployed, which seems to be your case. As the Waccamaw Economic Opportunity Council will not only offer grants, but they also help people stabilize with employment, job placement and other support. The Myrtle Beach agency details are here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... nity_.html

Re: Where to get money to help pay bills in Myrtle Beach
I have been trying to find out if there is any help available in Myrtle Beach for rent and utilities for someone 62 years old and on disability? It will not be a full two years since my first disability payment, until November 2024, but my actual application for disability was submitted in April 2024 and approved about July 2024.
I am behind on my Rent by a month and the next payment is due. Utilities are due as follows; electric 6/23, and water/sewer due 4/5,
With my need for medical attention and medicines, I just can’t keep up. It is either pay for my medical needs and end up homeless, or pay my rent, and end up in a hospital or dead. Not a choice.
Please tell me if and how I can find some form of assistance to me my rent and utilities so that I’m not evicted?
