Used a payday loan to pay rent

Post by Patti »

Me and my family live in El Paso Texas and we have ran into a problem where we now need help paying our rent. I work at the regional hospital. To make a long story short we applied for a payday loan on the internet because if we wouldn't have our daughter and my son wouldn't have had a Christmas, we ran into a situation where we couldn't pay the loan back and we asked for an extension and the loan company said they would extend the loan well we never thought to Check our account, but for 3 weeks they were trying to draw out the money from our bank account and put us negative 700 in the hole well my check wad deposited into our account and it put us back in the positive on our account but only left us with 15 dollars in our account and now we are unable to pay our rent. We need 750 dollars to pay our rent or the payday loan or were going to be kicked out.

As I sure you know by now applying for a payday loan for gifts or rent is a big mistake. That is what they do...take money out of your account around paydays. You pay high interest rates, risk overdrafts, etc. Try a non-profit credit counseling agency in Texas to get free help, advice, and gain control of financial situation. Find information here. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/cre ... texas.html and a list of agencies to call.

I am in debt of $1700 on a payday loan. It is for owed rent to my landlord. I have been on three leave of absences from Wal-mart, two for severe asthma exacerbation, and one for an injury to a knee. I'm stressed out, because I need the help in getting him caught up for all the months of work missed. I have been seeking help for quite some time now, and have been unsuccessful. I'm at my last bit of hope that someone will help provide assistance for me to catch up on what I owe him for back rent as I can't take out another loan. I would greatly appreciate the help. I have included my email address above. Thank you.

I am sure you know by now never to use a payday loan to pay expenses such as rent. If you owe $1700 that is quite a bit of money. Can you get compensation from Wal-Mart for the knee? in other word, was it a work accident? We do have information on trying to get help with consolidating payday loans and lowering interest rates. Maybe look into that as well in an effort to break the cycle. Read payday loan consolidation programs.

Hello. I live in Tallahassee, Florida. My husband and I have been struggling financially for YEARS but it has been even worse this past year. We recently filed bankruptcy and no longer use credit cards. However, we have pay day loans that we used to pay our rent, and we owe people money. We have not been able to afford food for over a year and have been living off ramen noodles. It is bad.
I applied for disability because I was diagnosed with 12 mental health diagnosis and numerous psychiatric hospitalizations, but was denied. I have not been able to keep a job, so all the pressure is on my husband and that is why we used those payday loans. Every month we have had unexpected expenses. My car got hit and the police could not find any suspects and my husband’s car starter completely broke two days ago. I need to seek mental health treatment and my husband needs new glasses.
We both need clothes because nothing fits us, and everything is completely worn out. I read online that you have financial assistance for mental health treatment?
Would you be able to help us with rent? Both of us have student loans that are about to go into collections as well and we have exhausted all our forbearance and grace with them. We just can’t catch a break and have been struggling for food and gas for a very long time. We do not qualify for food stamps because my husband makes too much. I wish there was a program that not only looks at income, but considers the household bills. If you walked into our home, you would see that we do not have any assets and appear to live in poverty. PLEASE HELP us deal with the rent payday loans. We are so desperate. Thank you.

My name is Suzie and I am in desperate need of assistance. I was unable to pay rent on the 1st of May and received a 5-day notice on 5/5/23 (but it is dated 5/4/23 claiming). I paid in past with a payday loan which was a bad idea. I called the office (I have proof of the call on 5/5/23) to advised of my intentions and asked about the total amount due $2011.85 which is $386.85 more than my rent amount $1625. The leasing agent told me it was the concession amount that's on my contract. I told her my understanding was that it was a onetime charge which I paid in Jan. My misunderstanding. Yesterday I received an eviction notice on my door for a total of $3557.07. My court date is 5/18/23. It claims my rent is $1876 and concession of $749, plus attorney fees $357.00.
I work full time and have been struggling since I moved in here with the payday loan, rent, and other bills. Prior to moving in I was homeless, and CIB helped me get into a shelter at In Suites. A navigator helped me find this complex and I applied. I do not know how I was approved because I do not make 2.5 or 3 x the rent, the leasing agent quoted me which was 1475 month. I believe they falsified my income on order to get approved and I expressed this with the complex and they did nothing. I feel I was set up to fail and not sure what to do.
I work full-time and have no additional support. I have tried getting a loan and that has had no results. I have even attempted to work side jobs and I have been unsuccessful
Please if someone could assist in either help with rent or guidance on what to do. I have $1800 total today with no food in my fridge
