As readers of blog know, I am a big reader/fan of Sunday Times. This past week had a feature article on FIRE (which I wrote about) and how some people cut way back and live on less so they can get to a place of financial freedom. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/01/styl ... early.html
Then these people live on that lower income and less "stuff"/experiences when they are "retired".

One issue is of course where you live due to cost of living. As a salary (even a lower one) is many cities goes a lot further than in other cities and can increase financial stability, security, and lifestyle/general happiness.

-One in effect said just a good, challenging job that makes a difference, treated well with self-respect. Said 60K if that, or 100K if bad job!

I think last comment interesting point...If you have a job that makes a difference, are respected at work, have growth opportunity, etc. many people may be willing to work for a little (or maybe a lot!) less money. Any more comments in regards to that would be interesting.

Thank you for the feedback. We have posted a blog article summarizing it as well as average income, wealth, etc. I remember when I entered the top 1% by wealth as well as income...Honesty I did not feel anything. As far as happiness, it did not make me any happier, as much of this salary and wealth survey show. Money does not buy happiness. I am still searching for that high level of happiness...i have had moments in the past, but I want/need it to be sustainable.
