Stroke patient without insurance need funding

Post by thikanabd »

My 75 year old father had a stroke while he was visiting us in the US. He was diagnosed with Hemorrhage on the left side of the brain - Stroke. His travel insurance had a maximum coverage limit of US $50,000 (this is the maximum coverage that his age group can purchase for emergency situation). That money has long been spent. His present condition is paralysis on the right side of the body. He is partially conscious and recognizes his close family members. He needs long term therapy and care. Now we need to take him to a skilled nursing facility before we can bring him home. We need financial assistance for his care and don't know where to get it. He is not a US citizen and does not have insurance. Our main goal at this point is to get him stable enough so that he can fly back home to Bangladesh. Currently he is in Houston, Texas in the Memorial Hermann Hospital.

We would really appreciate if anyone can guide us how we can get some financial assistance. We are at a loss. This was not planned or expected at all. He is very sick and we don't want to give up. Please help.

I desperately need assistance with my rent of $800 which was due on the 1st. I became very ill the end of 2011 and subsequently lost my job. My daughter is currently on Georgia Medicaid however due to no income or insurance I am unable to see my doctors or get my medications.

I have applied for SSDI and am currently at the end of stage 2 but do not know how long it will take to get it. I have had a stroke and 3 of the 4 lupus's, one of which has caused lesions on my brain which I currently have seizures as well (2 EEEGs done) I have already been evicted from one place and face this situation again. I worked for the same company for 12 years and now that I'm sick I have to beg for help and still can not get it. Please help us. Yes I have a husband which works however his checks are from 100 to 400 a week and since we are behind already this does no good.

I am physically disabled and 55 years old and had a stroke. I live alone in an apartment. My landlord said if the place wasn't clean by Monday 5/15/2016 I face eviction and my rent is late. I had some unexpected expenses and got behind on all bills. I need assistance with electric bills also. This one will be past due.
My rent is 688.00, cleaning expenses as my stroke stops me from doing this would be about 100.00 and my electric bill is 90.95 this month.
Please respond soon and if you cannot help me can you refer me to someone who can?

So is it insurance you need help with, or those other bills? As there are medical programs for the uninsured in Georgia, and they are listed here.

Now those focus on health care needs. Maybe a stroke is covered. As far as those other bills, look for some type of charity in Georgia.
