It sounds like you have taking many of the correct steps such as calling the Salvation Army, looking into LIHEAP, your local social services office, etc. Some other financial assistance, weatherization and grant programs in Arizona are referenced at this link. Not sure if they can help as owning over 2 grand is alot of money. How did you get this far behind? Regardless, make some more calls and ask about these programs, such as Home Energy Assistance Fund phone number 602-604-0640. Also learn about assistance programs that are offered from your utility provider in Arizona.

My electric is getting shut off next week. I owe 2200 dollars. I have electric heat and have had a problem paying it all winter and I could not keep up with the deferred payments of 1000 a month from Dec-Feb. I have 2 smaller children at home and I have also contacted every organization possible including churches, Social Services and Salvation Army and many organizations are out of funding! Without electricity I can not use my fridge or stove and have no way to cook for my children. If anyone has any more information on assistance that will help me quickly, it would be appreciated.

Here is a listing of agencies in the Providence area. Water bills are usually harder to get help with, but electric bill programs are fairly common. You have places and options to call in Rhode Island like the Interfaith Community Dire Emergency Fund, which has a phone number of (401) 421-7833. Or try calling the South Providence Neighborhood Ministries, phone number of Dial (401) 461-7509. Both may have limited financial assistance for bills. That income you mention though just is not enough for those expenses, so you need to look at those expenses or increase your income.

But, we went over during this last winter and our settle bill is 965 dollars. I am starting to get scared because I am not sure how we are going to pay this. We filed chapter 7 bankrupcy and it was discharged dec. 29. We had some unexpected charges during dec on top of that. My fathern law passed Jan. 3, 2011. He was living with us, he was only 50. We all had the flu and our deductables were 150 a piece. Its just been one thing after another. If you know of any way we could get assistance. That would be great. My husband brings home 565 a week and we have a 1200 mortgage, two car payments and other utilities.
I do have child support so thats how we get by since not having a job. Anyway I am scared we are not going to pay our bill and not have any power.

So you are in Lewis County? Not right that power can be shut off for military families and spouses. Here are some agencies and programs that may help in your area. Love INC of Lewis County, while mostly focus on rent, may know of some utility programs. Call (360) 748 - 8611. Try calling the Community Action Lewis County (360) 438-1100 funds may be available, and most of the money comes from private donations, but still many programs may be offered. Also try calling your base as personnel may know of special government programs for spouses or military people to help with energy bills.

The Gloucester NJ area has some places for electric bill help. I would think especially if you are hurt, have a medical issue like a broken ankle, or some other condition then you may be able to get help for those bills. Try places like the New Jersey Tri-County Community Action Partnership, which has a phone number of (856) 451-6330. Or is that one of the numbers you have called? Did the utility company give you notice before turning the power off? You can try programs and options like the Community Services Block Grant program, phone (772) 288-5629 which may offer LIHEAP or other emergency aid. The St. Vincent de Paul of Martin County Fl is another option. Find more charities and government programs here, or even look for free legal aid if you think the disconnection was illegal.

There are different services and organizations in New Orleans Louisiana. It sounds like you are trying to become that medical assistant, and getting any type of job offer is great in todays day and age.
I think some of the places you may want to try calling are the Total Community Action, Inc., as this non-profit agency runs the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Phone (504) 872-0334. It can help with utility, electric and cooling bills.

Another options that provides a bunch of emergency and aid programs is the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, and the phone number for that place is 504-523-3755. 7 kids is a lot, but hopefully these places have some limited funding for you.

We are hardworkers the kind that likes working (escape from 7kids. I just graduated in August as a Medical Assistant but am not having any luck getting a job. All the doctors offices that do call me say "when you get experience give us a call," I know crazy isn't it. He is 2 months from graduating himself. But know work for the 2 of us. I finally got an offer not as a Medical Assistant like I want but doing what I did before. Depressing, yes happy for work and income extremely but it doesn't start until Dec. 6th. My husband is proud and between some temp jobs here and there on my part and him loosing his plasma supply twice a week, we have made it to this point of unemployment and those things( Thank you God!)Pride for the most part stops my beautiful husband from seeking help. He is extremely self reliant believing it is his duty to take care of it all,"I'm the man,its my job" is what he says. Although he is the man and a wonderful one at that, we have hit a point stop if you will, our electricity is getting disconnected tomorrow. We are a few months behind on paying the electric bill. We live in Island County Washington. We are having no luck getting it,which brings me to my question after great amounts of rambling (sorry). You can try the local community action agency, which is Pinellas Opportunity Council, Inc. (POC). Phone number 327-8690. they offer an emergency and crisis program for such critical needs as water bills, rent, and energy.
Another option may be the Pinellas County Urban League, and there number is 727.327.2081. This is another organization with assistance programs for you.

You really have a special needs son and they are threatening a disconnection? I think that is illegal. Utility companies do not want bad press like that, and I think disabled are almost always offered special programs. Here is a link for programs in Rhode Island, some of which can help with utilities. Also if you look at the left margin you will find how to get free legal help. You should explore that option too, as I do think it is illegal.
