Assistance need for mom

Post by Janedoe »

Hi,
I have a question regarding getting assistance for my 64 yr old mother. She lives in a mobile home in a mobile home park. She was notified last year that she will need to make a change regarding her heating. She currently has an oil furnace. They no longer want the oil tank in the park due to the chance that it could leak. She is forced to get a new furnace or pay to have hers converted to another type of fuel. Since the furnace is 17 years old, she realizes that it makes more sense to install a new one. This is creating a bit of a hardship for her. She is a single lady who makes about $21,000/yr. I was wondering if there are any programs available that would assist her with replacing her furnace.
Thank you

That income may allow her to qualify for weatherization, which may be able to help with a furnace or other home energy conservation or home improvement items. It is usually run by local community action agency, so you will need to call them to determine what exactly your local program will pay for, and the details of any aid offered. Find additional details, and other utility help such as heating oil. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/nee ... bills.html

My rent of 750$ is due in a few days and I don't have it. I'm working but barely making 100$ per week and need help to get caught up. I paid the past due balance on our electric bill final notice and now I don't know how I'm going to even pay for gas to get to work this week. We qualified for expedited food stamps recently so that's one huge worry that has been lifted from my shoulders. Please help! I am a single mom in Los Angeles.

I'm writing on behalf of my mom. My mom is needing help on some bills that that is putting her in a very scary situation where her electricity is going to be disconnected losing food and no water for personal use. And she is also facing a possible eviction to where she won't have a place to go, and I can't afford for her to live with me due to me being on assistance myself., And as I said before I'm writing for my mom as this very last resort. We've tried all over looking for help and in the town we live in is so small (Auburn New York) everything is gone or program doesn't exist. So if someone anyone can please help us I would greatly greatly appreciate it. And my number is and I didn't mention because I didn't won't to be too pushy but I need help. My mom is behind 900 in rent and utilities is 360 just to catch up for this month. Please contact me please.

While maybe your town of Auburn New York is small and may not have many assistance programs, there are some state wide and federal options that you should explore. Examples would be low income energy assistance / HEAP or programs offered by your utility company. It doesn't matter where you live and those programs are available nationwide. Or call up your energy company and ask for payment plans and similar options. That is great that you are looking out for your mom too. Anyway, locate low income energy assistance in New York.

Help with my rent and power. I make around 960.00 a month. My bills are 445.00 rent, up to 160.00 in the summer. I have COPD so I have to keep the air around 76 or 78. Car insurance, Medical expenses (over 70 mile drive to specialist). My prescriptions, personal care items and more I need too, as does my mom. Not to mention food. I just have nothing left and nowhere to turn.

I am a single mom who works, but have my son in college. My income has not been enough to pay all my bills and rent. I’m now in court to be evicted from my apartment by December 18th. My rent is now $7248.00. I went to court to ask for an extension which was denied. I now have to meet with the landlord's attorney at the court on December 22nd, 2014.
I don't know what to do, and I cannot afford to lose my apartment. My son and I need our home. I will be so grateful if someone or some organization can please help me pay my rent. I’m a working mother, I have never asked the government for any public assistance or anything else. I’m desperate for this help. Thank you.

The fact you are a working mother will help your case when applying for assistance. If your son is in college, he should also be working though. He can afford to pay some of his own way, as anyone over 16 or so can have a job. Anyhow, locate our programs that may help you with your rent and bills, as there are many resources for low income families. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... grams.html
