Hi. I live in Ohio and we are about to be evicted. I got laid off from my job, and my husband will be getting laid off very soon. We need jobs.
Our rent is $638.00 per month. We are expecting a 3 day notice this week. I have my 2 sons that live with us. The youngest being 8.
Is there anywhere we can get help?

I'm a wife and don't have and children. I’m laid off from my job, disabled and it’s very hard to get things done in this state of Ohio....period. I'm merely staying is that I'm on fixed and it's had to live off of $746 a month and 40 dollars in stamps....I have light, gas, water that I  have to pay * well..........there's more to the story...I really need this grant to help me get a job in Ohio....Respectfully.

There is the Fayette County Ohio community action comission. They may help you find a job, or enroll into some skills training programs. Also give you financial help during your time of lay off.

Please read this message in its entirety before making a decision. My family was evicted recently and i lost my job - was laid off from COVID. I was not behind on my rent. In February my wife and I signed a letter stating we would pay a certain amount by a certain time. We also paid her $2600 on that day that was the moth behind and 1/2 of the next month. Covid happens - I lost one job and my wife lost hers both in Ohio. We got our stimulus April 30 and we paid them $2000. She never added that to the ledger because she had already filed a eviction April 24 or got a ruling...whatever it was it said she had the right to evict us we stated receiving 3 day notices in may claiming our rent wasn't paid and we weren't even behind.
We asked in June what's going on she told us we would have to pay another $2600 to stay in may, but it was hard to do being laid off. So we went to the office to ask for the $2000 because we would have moved long before now if we knew the exact situation. Which brings us to now. We don’t owe the apartment complex anything - you can check that out online. We need a place to stay in Ohio as we are at a hotel and the time is running out. Please give us a chance. I've switched jobs in my past bit there are little if any breaks in my employment history in the past for years and none of my immediate family members have police records. Please give our family a chance we make $4000 combined for monthly income. We have been desperately trying to find housing. We need help immediately we are from Columbus, Ohio. We've gotten help from Impact and another organization helped pay for this hotel. But we are about to lose this hotel room. I have 5 children. We are a family of 7 mom dad and 5 kids. We could fit in a 3 bedroom and we just need a place. We do have jobs please help us.
