Help needed relocating for a job

Post by clufus »

Hi,
I live in Houston, TX and have been offered a contract job in Dallas. Problem is I have no saving, been on unemployment for 5 months. I need some work on my 15 year old car to make the trip, I also have to keep my rent up at my current appartment at least until i find one in Dallas, (notice is 60 days + $600 lease breaking fee). Dos anyone know of anywhere that i can turn to to help short term with the expences. My start date is 9/13, first pay check will be 10/30

Thanks

Contact Family Services of Greater Houston (713-861-4849). They run a transportation assistance program known as Ways to Work. The program provides low interest loans to people so they can buy a car, and use the car for getting back and forth to jobs and their employment. They may also have other ideas for you. More info on other Houston programs is below too.

Finding money to relocate is tough. There are programs that can help people pay their first months rent, like the homeless prevention and rapid rehousing program. They can pay for moving into an apartment, and deposits, but not for things like packing up and shipping items. Here is a listing of Arizona programs.

Now we are not sure about getting into Notre Dame, but here is information on various college grants and scholarships. From this main page also find the rental assistance programs that may be able to help you and your kids. We think you do have various options available, which is great news for you and your family. No one should put up with abuse, so good you left.

I am currently behind on several bills which include water/property tax and my light bill. My husband who is permanently disabled with congestive heart failure. He now has COPD and wears oxygen 24 hours a day. I have been out of work for over a year now due to my husbands continued decline. I really need some help with relocating to be closer to a doctor but I don't know where to go or who to ask. Please get back with me with suggestions or programs that are designed to help me move.
I also need help with obtaining a glucose monitor needles and strips for my husband who has recently diagnose with diabetes. He has Medicare part B but I don't know the procedure for getting him these very necessary products to monitor his blood sugar. Thanks so much in advance for your support and kindness.

I work and stay with family but it's been crowded. I'm being told i will have to leave in a couple of weeks and I have money for rent somewhere else and can handle bills once I get in but my problem lies with security and first and lasts. I am a single working male and I just need a push to help me go from possibly sleeping in my car to a place I can live.
I am not totally helpless. I can handle things myself most of the time it's that I am backed into a corner and need someone to throw me a rope so I can climb out. Thanks for your time.

I am a 25 year old senior in college. I have no income and have been trying to find work. I live in Libby but am about to become evicted. I am willing to work but the closest city is about 100 miles away and I would not be able to afford gas for the commute. My need is to afford a move to a nearby city so that I can work. I am willing to work to earn money. Please help.

Sometimes the government may help with job placement in Texas. There are also public assistance for you to try, such as maybe a section 8 voucher can be used in that nearby city. This means you will have a home to live in when you eventually move. So try these public assistance programs in Texas. Note you income needs to be very low, but if you are 25 and jobless it sounds like you may qualify.

I am having to relocate to Wichita, KS as soon as possible for a new job. I am in desperate need of help. My older brother is already living in Wichita he has no one there that can take care of him. He needs someone to watch over him so he can remain in his own home.
In 2008 I moved to Blackwell, OK to take care of my parents. I took care of both them so they could remain in their home. With the help of Hospice I took care of father until he passed in our home in 2010. Mom passed in 2014.
At the same time my older brother was diagnosed with Colon Cancer 5 months before my mother’s passing. On the day of his colon surgery he had a major heart attack. His Cancer Specialist and his Cardiologist worked to together and he made it thru both surgeries. The chemo treatments were hard on him but he is in remission. His heart condition is more stable. His recovery was slow but he was recovering. Our mother was in serious decline her condition was much worse. She was dying and I couldn't leave her to go to him. The month before my mother’s passing he had a major stroke and lost the use of his right side and loss of memory. I still couldn't leave my mother to go to help him. Our mother’s condition was in serious decline she was dying and there was nothing I could do but stay with her. Her poor body was so tired she just wanted go home and be with daddy in heaven. Tommy was in the hospitable recovering from the stroke on the day momma passed.
Since my brother had a nurse coming a couple times a week. He also had someone coming to take care of cleaning, cooking and his personal needs. But his help was only for a short time. I was reluctant to move I was exhausted I had my own medical conditions to deal with. I am disabled with Diabetes, Hypertension, Neurapathy in my hands and in my feet, seizures, have trouble walking, being treated for depression (taking care of Momma and her Dementia well it broke me done mentally and physically I don't regret it but the slow degeneration of your loved ones mind is devastating) and to further complicate things I have an Immune Deficiency Condition so I have to be careful when I am exposed to the public I get sick. But then the 1st week of May he fell and broke his hip. He had surgery they put him in a Physical Therapy Rehab place. Last week he was released but was urged to not stay in his home without someone to come in and care for him daily. So I have do this one more time for my brother. He's needed me but I couldn't help till now. I have to relocate to Wichita to take care of him.
I have secured a rental property and interviews for a job there but I am worried that I will not be able to meet the deposits for utilities and the Rental Deposit. I live on my Social Security Disability Income, currently receiving $1048.00 a month. I qualified for Helping Hands and SHIP has been paying my Part D deductible. I am paying my supplemental insurance currently with Humana. I need help because he needs me there to help him. I don't know what to do. I am disabled myself but I am better than off than him I know I can take care of him,
I need to find some temporary financial help for the relocation and some mental help because I have to do this a 3rd time even if I don't think I can. I loved my parents and I love my brother being the youngest in the family means you’re the last one that can help. Sorry I know I rambled on but it’s the only way I can cope is to talk. I will be applying for assistance with Food Stamps just as soon as I get there and maybe they will help me somehow with this. I don't know. Please help me. Advice, guidance any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here you go. Try some of these Kansas type assistance programs. While we doubt they will help you move across the country, who knows maybe they will. Anyway apply to them. read more.

Hello,
I am a single mother of two young boys and due to the economy, I have been struggling tremendously.  I am currently living in Seattle, Washington and plan on moving back and relocating to Rhode Island in May of 2021 for a job.  I moved her in searched for a better life, but I am doing worse than what I was doing back in Rhode Island.  I need to see how to be eligible for rental assistance and even pay the security deposit.  I am emailing you this to try and get a head start on my living situation.  I really need your help relocating bad and was wondering what steps I should take once I get back?  Going back to Rhode Island I have no place to stay with my two kids but have a job that would be paying 11 dollars an hour for 25 hours a week.  Please help and give me your best advice.  I can be reached through email and by phone.

To whom it may concern,
Hello, my name is Andrea, I am currently renting in Horsham PA, I have been struggling financially the last few months and am behind on my rent. Now I want to get back on track and relocate closer to my job. The was a court hearing for possession of property, ultimately I have to be out by Dec 1st, well because I will not be able to afford the new increase or even amount with the amount owed.
I have been making weekly payments toward my rent but am struggling to catch up. I have been ill for a few months now, making it difficult for me to sometimes even work and the long community I have - those wanting to move closer to my job. I am currently not only behind but am unable to even renew my lease because of my financial situation. My current lease term ends November 30th and I’m desperately seeking some sort of assistance or even a place to stay with my children.
I have reached out to Your Way Home and have received assistance from them during the beginning of the pandemic. I have maxed the limit they can provide assistance for and they recommend a few organizations I should reach out to.
I am afraid that without assistance and without being able to pay the due amount that my children and I will be facing an eviction. I have no where else to go and have been trying to find even a room or a studio apartment for the time being, they’re either hard to find or require a large deposit amount.
I am reaching out to a few of the organizations I was recommended to contact hoping I can get assistance even if it’s just a small amount to help bring my balance down and possibly allow me to relocate to a new home and pay court judgment.
If your organization is unable to help me, will be kind enough to recommend me to another organization that possibly can.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Hi Andrea,
Since you want to move, and have a low income (section 8) look into the porting process. That can help pay for a move either in or out of state. Read more on porting section 8 vouchers.
