Utility bills, unemployed, and need help

Post by kim.ray12 »

I am 27 years old and even though I have always worked two sometimes 3 jobs at one time, went to school full time and picked up any jobs available, I have now been laid off for more than one year and am having an excruciatingly hard time living. I moved in with my boyfriend of 5 years to help each other out during this hard time. Our plan was to get married first then move in, but we felt this was the only way we could survive. I 've looked desperately for job, even at McDonalds, Windixie and other and nothing yet. I have placed hundreds of applications and not a single call. No doubt its hard times, now my unemployment expired for about 3 months and everything seems to be collapsing. Please let me know if at least you may be able to help out with the electric bills. We have taken many measures like minimizing electricity use, thermostat usually sits at 77 degrees and on reasonable days we open the windows. We caulked window seals and crevices we noticed... I don't know what else we can do at this moment. I thank you for all of your help in advance,

If you need help with utility bills, what state? Try this resource.
http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... bills.html
It gives tips and information on such programs as LIHEAP, weatherization and much more. They also have contact info on local community action agencies and who to contact for energy bill help.

Rent is due, owe utility bills, and I am unemployed

Post by kim.ray12 »

Your website was very helpful in identifying the programs available to me, however I could find no phone numbers or addresses for Englewood, CO. I am renting and in need of rental assistance. I have recently lost my job and, although consistently seeking employment, have not found one yet. I live with my girlfriend, who is also on my lease. My rent is up to date, however is due in 17 days ($579). I would very much like any information you can give me towards contacting an agency capable of helping me so I can avoid eviction.

Is Englewood by Aurora and Arapahoe County Colorado? If so, then here are some programs for that area. Contact them to get applications and to apply. Some places may even be able to help you find a job, or increase your household income. Try Community Resources (phone (303) 738-8040), or maybe Inter-Faith Community Services (their number is (303) 789-0501. They usually enter rent help programs for people facing an eviction.

Millions are unemployed. It seems like you need help with a variety of expenses, loans, bills, and debts. If so, try the main site of http://needhelppayingbills.com
You will be able to find rent assistance or other options, many from charities, non-profits, and other local organizations. There are thousands of phone numbers posted there, addresses for agencies, and other forms of aid, both for people with kids and without.

Hi, I am married and have three children living in my home. I have a full time job and my wife recently, who was unemployed, found a job but is only getting minimal hours. My wife is also going to grad school to better our situation but were over two months behind on rent and are unable to catch up. I am in line for a promotion but most likely will not happen till early next year now.
I am behind on my rent about $400, water bill $100, car needs numerous repairs, and owe approx. $2,000 on payday loans I acquired to to help my son attend technical school. In $4000 worth of debt. I am employed but loans set me behind and very hard to catch up. Have medical insurance but unable to pay for deductible and medications and I have high blood pressure.

I have a disabled wife and a 15 year old Boy . We live in Guston KY . At this point I am currently 55 and currently in care at the VA for a serious back deterioration condition. This has put me out of work at this time. I have used up my $400 for LIHEAP allotment and have an electric bill of $434 which I have a 2 week extension on to pay in full before we get shut off. Our bank account is dry and our income is at $795/month from my wife’s disability (SSI) We are caught up on our mortgage for now but will be late again on the 15th of August. Do you have any suggestions for me?

I recently lost my job as manager of the local farmers market and my unemployment benefits have been delayed for several weeks. My wife's income is not enough to pay our rent, not to mention the utilities and food. Our food benefits have dropped recently.
I have two biological children, two step children, and a previous guardianship child who visits bi-monthly. The child support from the step children has been interrupted due to an intense court battle. I'm afraid that my job search will take longer than my meager savings can tolerate. I am also providing child care for 75% of the time which severely limits my availability to work. Any help will be greatly appreciated and help prevent my family from losing our home, having utilities shut off, and missing meals. Thank you.

I am looking for a way to pay my rent and utilities and personal needs as I further my education. I am supposed to start school January 6th but if I can not find a way to manage my rent and utilities and things I will not be able to further my education. I do believe furthering my education will help me and my son further in life, but I'm very unsure on how to do this all.
I have applied for FAFSA for my schooling and am waiting until Monday to try to talk to the school financial assistant but I really need to find a way that I can manage everything without having to never be home with my son. I don't mind working, I just don't want to be gone all the time.
I really believe I can make a great change. I just need help figuring everything out. I was employed until the beginning of December and am struggling to find another job. In the process everything else that could go wrong has therefore I'm in a pretty bad bind and I could really use as much assistance as possible. Thank you.
