My family is very low income

Post by Girl34 »

First, my family is VERY low income and currently live in Coeburn, VA which is in Wise County Virginia.  At times we do not have enough money for all our utilities and food as very low income, so I was hoping you could provide me with information about programs in my area that help with utilities and food other than the local Department of Social Services. Also, I need a lot of dental work done and do not have dental insurance nor can I afford it and was wondering if you could find some information that may help me with that as well.
The second part to my inquiry to your organization is I have a disabled daughter in which we must travel around 6 hours a way to Richmond Virginia every 3 to 4 months and sometimes more often to see her specialist and I was wondering if your organization could help us find affordable housing in a safe neighborhood. Her doctor is technically in Henrico Virginia on the west side of Richmond so a home or apartment in that area would be preferable if you could find us some sort of information that could help us to relocate to be closer to her doctor's office.
Please let me know if there's any way that you can help us with both situations comment us relocating in Henrico Virginia would most likely be within a year but the local help that we are inquiring about we would need help finding resources as soon as possible. As I am very low income. Thank you so much for your time and I hope to hear from someone soon.
Sincerely,
Danica

I am looking for guidance in obtaining very low income rental assistance. I have been served an eviction notice for lack of payment this month. I have three children, 14, 6 & 3, and not sure where to turn. This is the first time I've had to request this type of help for my family even though we are low income and behind on our bills. I'm desperate to keep our home for my children and thank you in advance for any direction you can send me.

if you have 3 children and only one income, you need much more than just low income help. but I am glad you are trying the best for your kids. Try employment, the rent grants, job training and more. Find options here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... grams.html

Hello,
My name is Katherine. I don't know where to begin or where to start, I've never been in the situation before where I find myself trying to claw my way out of a whole that someone else put me in. My family is so low income it makes it challenging. I currently live with my cousins, my husband, and my two children, 8 and 4. My cousins are splitting, and my cousin's husband, even though he was told what he's doing could be viewed as illegal due to a global health pandemic, he doesn't seem to care. He's selling the house and only giving us till July 1st to get out. My husband has taken a huge hour cut due to the pandemic. We can afford to pay for rent being a very low income family, but we just can't afford to come up with the security deposit and first month's rent also while keeping our two children fed. My cousin's husband seems to believe since he's selling the house, he's not evicting us, therefore it's not illegal. I'm growing concerned for my family and my children. Is there anything that we would qualify for? We live in Frederick County, Frederick, Maryland.
Thank you so much for your time,
Katherine

It sounds like you are having issues with your family Katherine, evictions, legal, disputes, etc. There are resources in Frederick County, ranging from financial help to free lawyers for the advice you need. But find the resources here at Frederick County MD assistance programs,

Family in desperate need and we are very low income. We have 4 young children. Our 3 year old son is recovering from life saving open heart surgery after it was postponed twice due to covid 19 shut downs. Now all the sudden our landlord just sold the house we've been renting for almost 6 years right out from under us. Even though we have never once been late on rent or not paid. We have to move out on October 30th and we have no where to go. No money. Nothing.
Our only family is in Alabama and we don't have the gas money or moving truck money to get to Alabama. There is no housing help or anything available at this time. No one is even taking any applications until after July 2022. We are already low income and don't have any money saved. My husband was laid off for weeks and had his hours cut because of covid19 shut downs. Then he had to take 2 weeks off work to help with the other 3 kids while I was in the hospital with my 3 year old.
We had to get internet and buy chrome books and other school supplies for our boys to be home schooled. Now we are going to be homeless with 4 kids in the middle of a global pandemic with nothing. No way to home school as we are so very low income.
We are in desperate need of financial help to move us and have temporary housing and storage until January some time when we can move into a house. With my cancer, epilepsy, hypoglycemia, asthma and other health issues, my 3 year olds heart and my 9 year old epilepsy we are part of the vulnerable population and are terrified of being homeless with 4 kids, a dog & 7 chickens right now. We need help fast.
