New York City organizations

I need help with rent and was hoping to get a response from your New York City organization. I am an intern and I just moved to NYC a few months ago. Before moving, my mother screwed me over and slowly took everything from me: cash and the title to my apartment as well. I have been going to the hospital back and forth in the past 2 months and missing a lot of my training. I barely have enough with the stipend I receive and missing training/not getting paid plus getting sick just made me super broke to the point that I only have about 10 bucks to my name. I have debts from friends who’ve been helping and medical bills to pay as well as rent and I am so lost and on the verge of giving up as I do not know what to do anymore. My mother doesn’t care and gives me false promises every day of giving me back what is mine and I honestly don’t think she will ever give anything back.
If I could get help with rent in New York City at least tile I slowly get back on my feet, I would forever be grateful. I just don’t know what else to do right now as I am all alone here in NY as well.
Well, I am hoping to receive a response. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Regards,

Dear sir,
I just came across this while searching for assistance for my family in New York City. Our current situation is Since I've lost my job the week before Christmas 2019. My children and I have been homeless since new year. It been hard and each day we are struggling to stay alive. I've been applying for any kind of assistance online and even at certain charity in NYC just to be turned away
I’m a single parent of 2 girls without income. We have been struggling and my children are suffering. We were evicted from our home. Now, with a car that hardly runs. I’m die trying to find us a home. We sleep in our car at the church parking lot. Get a little bit of food from the pantry. There is no help for homeless as I was told and turned away. Only help will be provided if we get into an apartment or rental. But with an eviction. I can't do much. My daughter just got a job. Indeed, it’s hard for us because in the early morning I have to drop off my youngest at school, then take my other daughter to work. Then find a place to spend my time doing research to see what I can apply for. Then off to pick up my youngest and then my other daughter from work. Afterwards, we seek food wherever it's available in New York City and find a safe place to park our car and sleep. Shelter only let us stay 1 or a few nights at most. We asked for gas cards from local churches and NYC organizations but that's ran out. We found a nice place for rent. Private owner. No credit check or income requirements. Plus, I have an eviction so that's that! I have been seeking assistance with deposit and rent. I have a job offer but I cannot work because we have no home and with dropping off and picking up my 2 kids. That's a whole day already. Please if there's anything you can help us with. We greatly appreciated it. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you and God blessed
Thu Nguyen and children
Also, I can be reached at this number.

Did you try a New York City church. They often have programs for the homeless. Maybe the church can give you food and shelter, both for you and your children.

To get help getting car back and hoping New York City organizations can help. I need my car to take my two infant baby's to and from Dr. appointments and also have two sons that are in school. I also have to attend Court Assistance program's. My youngest baby has to go see a specialist for her Allergies due to we dont know what she's allergic to and too young to be given the epic pen for allergies. Her Allergies are life threatening so I also need my car for that in case something were to happen as the appointments are outside of New York City. I'd have less than ten minutes to get her to the ER or she may die.

There are housing court resources in New York City. they are listed here.

While your needs are diverse, maybe a social worker or the court system can direct you to the assistance programs you need for car, allergy pen, etc.

Hello -
My name is Marvalee, a woman residing in a NYC shelter. I currently receive SNAP benefits of $194 from government organizations in NYC. I also receive basic Medicaid. I recently applied for cash assistance (a requirement for the shelter/ hotel in Manhattan). The case worker who processed my cash assistance application at my local HRA center informed me that I would receive @ $79 deposit before 9pm that night and moving forward $97.00 bi-weekly. I did receive the initial $79... but at the request of my case worker, I requested a budget letter, only to be told that my monthly cash assistance will be $22.50 per 2 weeks / $45.00 per month. I honestly do not know what to say upon learning of this discrepancy in what was initially communicated to me.
I am a struggling NY city person trying to get back on my feet and find New York City Organizations while evading the possible new wave of this pandemic.
I could use your assistance.

We do have several resources listed for NYC region, for housing, food, and more. In addition, several nation programs that you can use in addition to SNAP. Find details here, at assistance programs in NYC.
