Senior parents need help as have cancer

Summary:
I am submitting this email for my parents who are both senior citizens. In 2011 my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, so my father retired from his company (who did not provide a retirement plan) to assist my mother with chemo & radiation. They are both living off of their social security only and are struggling to make ends meet. They really could use help with their utility bills. Their gas is currently turned off.

That was great of your father to help your mom with the cancer. Can he re-enter the workforce as a senior? As with the type job market, many companies are looking for experienced workers. While he searches for another source of income, there are financial assistance programs for seniors that can help. Some focus on people with breast cancer too, so maybe their are resources for your mom.
