We need help while we wait on our SSI retirement to start

I am checking to see what aid might be available to my wife and I. I am 62 and my wife is 69, we are both waiting on social security. I was laid-off June 2012 and received unemployment until August 2013. I have been using my credit cards to by food to make ends meet and want to check what program might help us at this time? I did all I could to reduce expenses, refinance on our home, paid off car loan and have remaining balances! If we could qualify for a program, our income is $2169.00 a month! Please let me know where we stand on any program!

Well, there would not be a program for your specific case. Instead you would need to apply for any option that is open to anyone. Also, can't you apply for social security early, or at least your wife since she is 69?
