I am looking for a creative solution to pay for childcare for my 2 small children (ages 2 and 3). I live in Ferndale, WA and work in Bellingham, WA. I would love for my children to go to the Barkley YMCA which costs $1,370 per month. I work full time as does my husband but with our mortgage and all of our bills there is no money left over for the kids. Currently they are in a private home but I believe it is so important for them to get into a program to try to stay ahead when they get into school. Please let me know what types of program we can apply for. We are willing to lend our services to the community. I work in Human Resources and my husband works in IT

We are not sure if there is really an effective way to save money on child care expenses or bills. The bottom line is to try to find a low cost provider, take advantage of some tax breaks, and steps like that. For example use Dependent-Care Flexible-Spending Account, or try to adjust your work schedule. Read other tips to save on child care bills and expenses.

I WORK FULL TIME AND HAVE A 3YR OLD SON AS WELL AS IM A FULL TIME STUDENT RIGHT I RENT A 2BEDROOM APT WITH 2 BATHS AND PAY $610.00 A MONTH I WOULD LOVE TO KEEP THIS ACCOMMODATIONS BUT AT THE SAME TIME IF I COULD HELP A PORTION OF MY RENT I COULD ASSISTANCE WITH CHILDCARE FOR MY DAUGHTER I CAN PAY MOST OF IT BUT IF I CAN GET ASSISTANCE FOR HELP ON PAYING A PORTION I CAN AFFORD CHILD CARE FOR MY DAUGHTER THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL AS WELL AS I GET PAID EVERY 7TH AND 22ND SO THE EXPENSES GET TOUGH.

Working and going to school is great. Congratulations. Sounds like a hrd worker. People with children are usually given priority when it comes to rent assistance, and you can find Pima County programs and resources here. Usually the aid is paid out in a portion so the fact you can pay a part of your rent is very helpful too. Maybe look into payment plans for rent and child care too.

Hello, I am 20 years old. I am a working mother with 2 young children and I have a newborn on the way in September. I have no help from the father or any other family members. My job does not cover maternity leave so I will be struggling on paying my rent for the first 6 weeks after having my baby due to me living paycheck to paycheck. I really need help in paying for Daycare, gas, things like clothing for kids and new baby, etc. The child care costs are really going to make me struggle. Thank you.

I just moved to FL from NV. My ex-husband is $27,000+ behind in child support. I applied for government assistance and opened a child support case here in FL. I received $60 in child support this month. I have exhausted all of my sources of income and can not pay my rent and bills. Some government programs and agencies will offer vouchers to pay for child care costs. They usually prioritize those who are working, so you have that going for you. As the goal of the grants and vouchers is to encourage people to work and cover some (or maybe all) of their child care costs. Find government child care vouchers.

I live in Prince William County with my son, who has gotten evicted. I do not make enough to afford child care for him or rent on my own, but my son is moving out of state. I receive around $600 every two weeks from my full-time job. My birthday is 1965. Are there any rental or child care programs that can offer rental assistance and possibly utility assistance? My wife, has been working in childcare for a year, but due to health issues had to leave, and childcare expenses became too much for us as well. We are seeking assistance with just this month only. Please if there’s anything you can do, we would appreciate it, as we have nowhere to go, and we have a young child.

The state of Virginia has some child care vouchers for low income parents with a financial hardship. More information can be read here.
