Have you called 211 to locate any local organizations that might be able to help? I'm in TN too (Nashville area) but there are different agencies for different parts os the state. A good place to start is your local Community Action Agency (they can also help with electric bills.) Try the United Way too.

Good luck!

Thank you for the correction and providing the state. The state someone lives in is key as so many programs are local. There are many utility assistance programs in Illinois.
There are resources like the Ameren Hardship Assistance for Residential Customers financial assistance program, which can help with energy bills. Use this link
http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/ill ... gy_bi.html

As far as those other expenses and bills in Illinois, such as rent, mortgage, debts, etc. just explore the primary site and select Illinois from all the drop downs and nav bars.

Had surgery o may 2 for lower disc and fragments removal. I'm a waitress off work for 3 weeks all ready and will be off another 3 or more. Rent is due by June 2 of 500.00 I have no money and need help. I live with my daughter who is a single mom and can not help. I need some help we got laid off April 27,2010. I have just heard from unemployment I will finally get but not until this week or 164.00 a week but my rent is 700.00 I used my last check for May rent county wont help because i get unemployment coming in now. And I just bought new tires for my truck the week before they walked into my work and laid me off so that took rest of my check. Is there anywhere that will help us in Aitkin Mn. It is hard raising 2 kids at 16 with no help and then your boss of almost 5 years walks in and lays you off with out notice. thanks.

Yes, unemployment often does not pay the cost of rent or other bills people have. It helps, but never enough. There are some assistance programs in Minnesota. There are places like the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, which may help with those surgery and medical needs. Another bigger is the Community Emergency Assistance Program, Inc., which is more of the general Minnesota assistance fund. Call them at 763-566-9600. This agency offers a wide number of financial assistance. The truck expense is too bad, but on the positive side you will need transportation when you interview for new jobs, so it was not for nothing. Find more info on Minnesota assistance programs

Hello
I live in Chippewa Falls WI. I have always worked helping others and I really enjoyed my job. I ran a auto repair center for 5 years and my shop was my life. I got a new Regional Director over the chain who did not like me. She made my life unbearable and I finally had enough, had a day day, and my employment was terminated by the auto shop chain director. I have not been able to find work and my unemployment has ran out. I have sold everything that I owned. I will be loosing my car and the place I rent real soon. Do you know of any resources that may be able to help me? I would appreciate any kind of help.
Thank you
Sincerely,

I need help with paying my bills, I do not know where to turn to go. My family has helped me as much as they can. My husband has been out of work for 3 months, and I cannot pay my existing bills with only my check and his unemployment. I need information of how to receive funding to help me during this difficult time in Chattanooga. I have even went through churches, but since I do not attend their church they will not help people in need. I work all of the time to get money to help us, I do not have the time to go to church.

Hi there! First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to read my e-mail. I am currently collecting unemployment as I lost my job back in September. I signed a lease that is through August, however I cannot afford to pay.

In addition, I am having a great deal of difficulty finding an apartment that is cheap enough for me to live. I did apply for food stamps, however was denied based on the amount of unemployment I am receiving, however, the unemployment is not enough to cover my bills if I stay here in this apartment. I could use assistance with rent, heating, food, really anything would help. Thank you so much, and I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely,

There are programs in Kansas, in addition to food stamps, that can help you with that rent and energy bills. Also, the unemployment can be offset by the income from another job, so you badly need one. Until you get it, locate financial aid in Kansas for those living expenses.

Good morning,
My husband has been unemployed for the last couple of weeks, and was on unemployment since February. The amount of money from unemployment is not enough for us. We are still waiting on the unemployment benefits from the state. He has been out of a steady paycheck for the last couple of months. Because of this, we have been scraping by, and are now about a month behind on our bills. We have 2 small kids. My husband has been working odd jobs here and there and has accepted a new job. But we are unsure of the start date and when his next paycheck will actually come in. We are need of a little jump start, to just get through the next couple of weeks, be able to pay a few things down so when he does get his first paycheck, we can keep moving forward and not be digging out of such a DEEP hole.
Is there any help you give? any where you can direct us to? We have tried applying for State help, but I unfortunately "make" too much (though compared to my bills, it is not enough solo).
