Community action agency

Post by Patl »

I just want to make someone at Gulf Coast Community Services that they're
operator at their main phone number is completely rude. She
is dissociated from the hardship the low income community is enduring. In
this economy is time for a change, I have called this number a few years
before for a neighbor of mine and I received the exactly the same treatment
from the same person's voice. As of today she refuses to provide a name or
a way to identify her. I would like to know where your funding comes from
and who is in charge of this company, who could I talk to in order to
address the intolerant rudeness of your operator.

I will be looking forward for your response.

Can't really help you with Gulf Coast. I can say that most funds for community action agencies come from the federal government. The government is actually looking into cutting funds, which is a concern. Call your politician and demand that this does not occur. Community action agencies are not charities. There goal is to provide short term help for bills, but ensure people get back on their feet/self sufficient over the long term. Most operators are professional and well trained. Sounds like you had one bad experience. More information includes.

I live in Las Vegas Nevada , last month I broke my ribs at my job and I was off for mostly the whole month and I didn't qualify for worker compassion pay and I don't have a very good insurance at all and all my savings went to pay for the doctor visits. I still have my job, can't work till my doctor say it's ok . Do to this my bank acct. is extremely negative and ended up homeless had to pawn lap top that I use for school to buy food and I have no family support because I'm a gay man and for that I been fighting severe case of depression since I was 21 and they all live in Texas . I know this is alot of info in here but I really really need temporary financial help at the moment. Because I don't know how much fight I have in me anymore . And I don't know which program is right one to help me at the moment, and community action agency in Vegas doesn't seem to help too much. If you guys have any idea where I can go??? I would really be grateful and would have saved my life at the same time thank you so so so much !!

Temporary financial assistance is available in Las Vegas. While we are not sure of the exact program either, find a listing of Las Vegas financial assistance programs and resources. I know the area has been hit hard by economic woes, and housing, but you can always call around to places like Clark County Social Service(702) 455-4270 or a non-profit like Lutheran Social Services Of Nevada which can be reached at 702-639--1730. Many programs for people falling behind on bills and debts from medical conditions are administered.

I am having problems with paying my bills. I have a job, but I am a single mom and just getting by. I find it hard to try to scrape money for gas. I no longer get food stamps because they declared I make too much. However, I have a car payment, car insurance, my electric bill & my only novelty bills are my internet & cable. I dont have money to spare for buying my kids what they want. I need some help. I have backed up medical bills & car loan from a car accident. I cannot do payday loans. I am waiting to see if getting back into school will help, and I have called a community action agency

I think you need to cancel those "novelty" bills of internet and cable. Maybe use the public library for internet, and get basic TV or cable service. Those two bills I bet are expensive.
Yes, community action agencies are a great place to call. They can often help you apply for government grants, rent programs, food, etc. Gasoline is touch. A community action agency may not be able to help with that. And go back to school! The unemployment rate for college grads is much lower (under 4%) than it is for other people and members of society.

*Would you please send me contact and location information for organizations and agencies that can really assist me with helping to pay for my day-to-day necessities like rent, utilities, phone and food? I am 61 years old, and have been laid off 3x since 2008. It's been hell. Taking from Peter to pay Paul, etc. etc. I've called several agencies in the past...I either get no answer..the number is no longer in service or they have filled their quota.* **
*Any assistance and guidance you can provide is very much appreciate it...and thank you in advance.*

Really assist depends on the funding the agency has, your income level, financial situation, number of family members, and much more. But yes, thousands of people get limited funds from charities and agencies every day. We need to know your county, state, and more information. Until then explore our main page, using navigation bars on left side. The link is here.

Well, you may be right to contact a community action agency, as they may be able to help on all these needs. There are several in Georgia, and they will have info on disability programs, maybe legal aid for the vehicle accident/lawsuits, and just general financial aid. Sometimes the Georgia locations will have direct assistance or they may provide referrals. Either way it is a good idea to try them. Locate you nearby community action agency in Georgia.

I’m struggling at this moment on paying my rent and bills. I only completed $637 for my rent. I need $325 to complete it.
I’m a mom of 2 little girls. They are a 2 year old and a 5 year old and going through hard times. I really need help. My rent is due this Sunday. I’m really stressed and don’t know what to do as I contact my local community action agency to no avail. I need help please.
I also have the light bill of $357 and don’t have the money for it. My little girl has asthma and they will be disconnecting my light this 31. I appreciate for your help.

Need help with rent/electric from community action agency....was off with my sick mom for a year and had to charge so much to my credit cards to live that I am in a bad financial situation. I would do it all again to stay with my bedridden mom or to make her all better but unfortunately I lost her to cancer in 2013 and I keep on struggling and getting nowhere and am actually getting deeper in debt.
I was never like this in the past and could really use some help for my bills. I work hard and am currently doing 2 jobs but it is just a struggle living alone to make it and all my money goes to bills. I also ended up sick after her passing and in the hospital with possible heart problems and owe doctor bills. Any help community action agency can give would be so appreciated.

There are several that may help you in Wisconsin. They are based by county, and the resources are wide ranging. Whether it is a cash grant or debt counseling for your credit card bills, there are options for non-profit community action in your state.
