I agree that $400 month is not enough to pay rent or bills. You definitely need to increase that income level. In the meantime here is a listing of agencies and non-profits in the Philly area that may have services for you. Places like the Urban League of Philadelphia may even offer job training or career counseling, resume review services, and aid like that. Call them at (215) 985-3220, and use this link for more information and assistance programs.

I have been unemployed since September 2010-I desperately need help staying afloat with all of my bills, but rent is my most pressing concern. I have already utilized the community organization in my area once last year-(they assisted me with rent at that time too-300.00) so I am hesitant to contact them again, I have been actively searching for employment daily with no calls at all so far! If you know of any other agencies I can contact for help in my area, please let me know-I live in Bellevue, Pennsylvania-(oftentimes Bellevue and Pennsylvania are used interchangeably) thanks for your time.

Yes, most community action agencies will only offer limited help, and can't ask multiple times. That being said you can call them and ask. Maybe they can't give you money, but they can maybe provide information on other local churches, agencies, non-profits to call. Or even federal government programs. Look into assistance programs Allegheny County. Off the top of my head there are options like Action Housing (phone (412) 281-2102), the Urban League of Pittsburgh (call (412) 681-1110) and other agencies as well.

I'm 33, no children, no family!!! Just me and 2 cats and 1 dog, who are my family. I'm an RN,recently had to quit my job and am getting unemployment. It's a long story. I don't want anything for free!!! I'm sad for I have no where to turn. Many when have a hard time in life turn to family. Dysfunctional or not, family is family!!! I have none!!!! It's hard to find assistance for a single woman 33 alone with 2 cats. I'm living in a single in Oakland California for $850.00, I buy nothing but the basics and that is fine!!! Yet fearful to lose this small place, older car and my 2 cats!!! I have already lost my home many years ago, while attempting to make peace with my only family, my mother, She is quite abusive ,toxic and lies. I can't see her. It's pure destruction and took me until 36 to become free of her guilt. My dad died a long time ago. Never married. Any little family wants nothing to do with me for I must be like my mother. A horrible assumption. I've had many deaths of the small family I had. I was horribly abused by my mom and a man I left 1 year ago. I tend to be used for I truly am honest yet many see it as a weakness. I take my RN career seriously and refuse to work if going through a trauma for a paycheck. I'd rather clean toilets, which is fine. I'm applying for jobs as of last week. Not found the fit yet. I may be in the too qualified group, though $$$ is not my motive. Just enough for the basics in life and pay bills that unemployment doesn't cover. A roof, lights, food, etc.. I 've gone hungry to feed my cats and stopped by food pantries in Oakland!! I'm scared. I made a video to possibly send to who??? I just can't do this alone anymore, I need some support, both $ and emotionally. I'm very strong. Want to pay it forward and give back. I've never asked for help!!! I always am the giver!! Please, I have a unique serious

We can help you get help with bills in rent in Alameda County. That is a difficult story, but you seem to be resilient and keep fighting to try to make your life better and get ahead with those expenses. Find our Oakland and Alameda County assistance programs and non-profit agencies to help people make it through challenging times. As just one example, call Spectrum Community Services Inc. at 510-881-0300, which offers a bunch of low-income grants and assistance programs for residents.

If you are saying you were lied to and employer has ripped you off, then try suing them. Income qualified people can get free legal aid and support. Find free legal assistance for your state of Florida. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/flo ... tance.html Most agencies will handle cases like that...employer issues. Good luck, and make some calls.

I can not find a job. I am 61 and have not worked since last June. I only collected unemployment for 14 weeks because I did not make enough money. I did work 18 months before I was laid off, but most of that time I only made 110.00 a week and was told it did not count because anything under 140 was not considered. I do once in a while make a little money playing music, but my hands hurt so much I can't play much anymore. I just applied for Social Security, a reduced rate because I am 61. I need help with my rent. I was paying 1300 a month, but the landlord agreed to drop it to 1100. I am not behind because I have been borrowing a lot of money just to pay bills. Is there a rent and utilities assistance program I can take advantage of? I live with my girlfriend and she makes grosses 88 dollars per week. Can you help me? Or lead me to where I can get some help? I live in Newark NJ.

Keep trying to work. That is great of you. For other options, read more on Newark NJ rental assistance programs and agencies. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/new ... tance.html
That is great of your landlord to reduce your rent as well, as most will not do that. On the site you will find information on both rental and utility programs to look into and call for financial help.

I am disabled and recently divorced I am having some difficulty getting the spousal support ordered and have been surviving on $491 a month. I own a single wide mobile in need of repairs and have fallen behind on my space rent which is $240.00 a month. I currently am two months behind. I have applied for weatherization but the waiting list is long. My food stamps were cut from $160 a month to sixteen dollars and only received $100 in spousal support at a loss of $69.00. I am getting more and more concerned and have no family to rely on and am unemployed. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Well sounds like the first thing you need is food. The government has programs and there are other options too like pantries and food banks. Since you are a senior then look into other resources including Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program or the emergency food assistance program. Then the site also has numerous other non-profits and charities listed for those needs. Find details on food assistance.

I am a single mom with 2 kids, and pregnant. I would like to see if there would be anyway to see if you could help me with my rent. I lost my job and am behind on car, SDGE, water. I have been seeking assistance's for a little a couple of months now. On Wednesday I received a 3 day notice to pay or quit. I just moved into this place. I feel horrible but my unemployment keeps stopping. I only have until tomorrow and they start the processes. I have had some real hard times this year. I have lost everything.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am weary but still researching for the only mere benefit of my three children. If it were only myself and, my husband I would live in my car. However, we are from Orlando, FL and moved into a condo in the 32808 zip code back in February of last year (2014). My husband was laid off from his job in August.
I was currently the only one still employed. However, on June 2015 I had a severe leg injury to my left leg. In this injury it forced me to be out of work and care for my family. I kept in constant contact with our landlord. I was advised to contact 211 for rental help to be sure our family would not be homeless or faced with the weight of where will we live? Upon reaching out to 211 we were given an appointment for July 2015.
At this appointment we brought all documents needed as they requested and, that following Monday we were told, “We were approved for rental help and, electric bill help.” THANK GOD! But, our family was only to hear good news to be faced with our landlord stating that he would NOT accept my August payment for July 23rd and he started the eviction on July 8th, 2015.
I responded to the courts in a letter explaining the unfortunate circumstances my family has endured. However, the judge still signed off on the eviction and we are now faced to be on the street any day. I have a professional job at our top trauma hospital in Orlando Florida which currently is a blessing. I work from home now. But, soon no place to call home.
I’m reaching out because, I don’t know what else to do for my family? If you can guide and or direct I would be humbled and, grateful.
