Get help with paying bills or free stuff.

Hello,
I am part of the Charity Care Program which helped with my hospital bill, however, the Doctor bill is $2000.00+ and I am unemployed and do not receive any U/E wages nor do I qualify for Medicaid.
Are there any programs out there for a single woman, age 55 and unemployed/uninsured? The bill is getting ready to go to collections and I cannot pay.

You can of course try clinics and government medical care (such as Medicaid) for going forward. But they may not help with an existing bills. Maybe try NY charity medical care. Who knows...maybe they have some options or ideas for you.
