Where can I find help?

Post by bennett1955 »

My husband died from lung cancer May, 2010. He had a very aggressive and cancer and died within4 months of being diagnosed. We had no insurance and told the doctors we had no insurance. I am only 56 so I don't qualify for much. Both hospitals and doctors offices have sent everything to collections. One of them is garnishing my wages for 25%, the other s will have to wait in line to garnish my check. With the garnishment I barely have enough to pay my monthly bills. I had to get a second job just to pay my rent. Are there any programs to help people in my situation?

We usually recommend that individuals call a non-profit credit counseling agency. If you post your state/county we can provide some resources. Until then, find more information here.
http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/cre ... ncies.html If you go midway down the page you will find some information on contacts and agencies in each state.
Also learn more about the medical debt settlement process, and how you can reduce the amount of your bills, lower interest rates, etc. Read the medical debt settlement process and tips and ways to reduce bills.

I am in desire need of financial help for Rent and Utilities.
I injured my self in March 2013 while on the job. I twisted my knee. And even thou I am no longer on Worker's compensation and I did take a settlement, I am down to nothing in my bank account and will not be able to pay November's rent, my medical bills, or any of my utilities or my phone.
My landlord will NOT work with me. He would rather go thru a magistrate and have me evicted no questions asked. He doesn't even care about our financial problems. "If you don't have the money to pay out you go!" He even told me if I went to CEO to get the help he would refuse it. He would rather evict me and get someone who can pay.
the doctor won't work with me as well on those medical bills. My finances and bank account are down to $0.00. I have nothing. And I still can not go back to work due to all my physical problems I still have from my fall last year. I am still under doctor's care and will soon be going for more doctor appointments to specialists due to the physical problems I still have that are debilitating issues. Please, I really need HELP!! I live in Luzerne County near Wilkes-Barre PA.
