Stroke patient without insurance need funding

Post by thikanabd »

My 75 year old father had a stroke while he was visiting us in the US. He was diagnosed with Hemorrhage on the left side of the brain - Stroke. His travel insurance had a maximum coverage limit of US $50,000 (this is the maximum coverage that his age group can purchase for emergency situation). That money has long been spent. His present condition is paralysis on the right side of the body. He is partially conscious and recognizes his close family members. He needs long term therapy and care. Now we need to take him to a skilled nursing facility before we can bring him home. We need financial assistance for his care and don't know where to get it. He is not a US citizen and does not have insurance. Our main goal at this point is to get him stable enough so that he can fly back home to Bangladesh. Currently he is in Houston, Texas in the Memorial Hermann Hospital.

We would really appreciate if anyone can guide us how we can get some financial assistance. We are at a loss. This was not planned or expected at all. He is very sick and we don't want to give up. Please help.

We have many programs and options for medical bills and hospital bills on the main site. Here are some tips and ways to get help with hospital bills, including tips from former employees of various hospitals. There are also a number of programs that offer free health care too, like medications, charity care programs, etc. Here is information on those. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/get ... _care.html
Last, but not least, the state of Texas as well as cities and counties in the state have various state and local programs, clinics, medical care, and other aid. Find Texas financial assistance including clinics and medical care.

This is a lot of requests but do not know where to start. Any help would be appreciated for a former stroke patient. Need to pay off medical bills and been doing so but it is so hard. Need to see some specialists and they cost a lot of money but first I have to clear up some of my past medical bills etc.

I am a single mother of 7 children. I work for Coca-Cola part time. Before Coca-Cola I was working in the cafeteria at Homestead Senior High. I tried to get another job before ending Homestead but unfortunately I wasn't able to until the beginning of June.
I make $11 an hour at Coca-Cola. I really need help with my rent. Please if you know anyone who can help. Please contact me. June 6th I was rushed to the hospital. Now I'm on medicine to prevent a heart attack or stroke. I was told that I had a mini stroke. I'm not looking for long term assistant. My kids only have me. I'm not a person that begs but I am in serious need.

Hello, My mother is a senior in the Ogle County area, with diabetes & just suffered a stroke but has no health insurance. She has been hospitalized for 21 days, will be going to another facility for 14 days then be sent home to do therapy 3 times a week in Rochelle, IL. We need funding or financial assistance turning a bathtub into a walk in shower & will need a ramp also for her stroke recovery if possible a aloft on the stairwell. Her bedroom is on the 2nd floor as well as the bathroom with the shower and that funding.
