Is the issue dealing with current medical debts, or trying to get the surgery? Either way, try this for information on Maryland medical debt settlement and help from collectors. Learn about your rights and what they can or can't do to try to collect from you. They have a law known as Senate Bill 776 which regulates medical debt collectors.

I have had some medical issues along with vehicle problems. I have called our utility company to ask for assistance but they have stated that we don't qualify for help because of our income. Some of our debts our from my medical issues. While normally we don't need the assistance the last 2 months we have been in need of assistance. Our work is not going well and we are so low on funds that our checking account has been overdrawn several times in the last 2 months. This added to the need to get our utilities paid without being able to receive help is taking a toll on my physical health. I would appreciate any help or info that you can provide.

Call your utility company and tell them about medical conditions. Many companies have programs to ensure people who need power for medical issues are not disconnected. As far as paying off the debts, look into medical debt consolidation. Many businesses, non-profit counselors, and even do it yourself methods exist which can help individuals through a difficult period.

I'm a 32 year old female living in Orlando Florida and my total so far is over $3000 and those are the doctor bills..the main hospital bill (which will be ridiculously large) hasn't come through yet, plus the pathologists bill too :(. Well, we are not sure what you are looking at on our site. We don't have applications or provide grants. We have information on programs. There are tens of thousands of phone numbers on the site, so not sure why you say you can't find contact information. You are clearly not looking hard enough. Anyway, as far as options for your medical bills and debts in Florida, try a non-profit credit counseling agency. They can usually provide you options for reducing or eliminating the debts and bills.

My brother was diagnosed with throat cancer in January 2012. He underwent radiation treatment and experienced some problems afterward, due primarily to a slow healing process. He was off from work (fabrication welder) from late December of 2011 to early this summer. During this time he had no income, plus his health insurance deductible through his place of employment is $5000 per year! He is having an awful time trying to keep up with his bills due to the addition of all of his medical bills. He has sold many of his personal belongings, depleted his savings and took out of his 401k, and his bills keep mounting. He lives in Green Bay Wisconsin, and has been treated both by the local hospital. He applied for assistance through his health insurance provider and was denied on some bills, I believe because he is now backing to work. They are monitoring him closely, every few months, as we lost both our parents within the past 5 years due to cancer of the lungs. As of right now, we were told he is cancer free(!!), but needs some kind of help paying his accumulation of bills. If you can help in any way, or know of someone who can PLEASE contact me.

One of the leading causes of bankruptcy both in Wisconsin and nationwide is medical bills. When someone has cancer those costs can add up quickly. It is sad he has had to sell his belonging to try to free up money, but in some ways that is also admirable. It sounds like he may be getting better, which is the most important thing. When it comes to the hospital bills for the treatment, he should try non-profit credit counseling in Wisconsin. This is often free advice from a specialist.
